jemimapd Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 Any Narnia film fans? Looks like Disney has cut off funding to the Narnia franchise. I read that Walden Media is shopping around the next film, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, but who knows if it will get made. Apparently, Prince Caspian did quite badly at the box office; and there seems to be a lot of criticism (justified) of how the film was made. It didn't have quite the magic of the first one. Still, I'd like to see more made, particularly The Magician's Nephew. How do others feel about the Narnia films? Quote

I would like to see them made into a series of really good animated films. I wasn't overly fussed on The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe - it was ok but not as fantastic as it should have been (unless i am just too familiar with the book for anything to satisfy) I haven't seen Prince Caspian. pipread Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 I really enjoyed the first film which I saw at the cinema, I`ve only seen Prince Caspian on dvd, it was ok but I was disappointed, it lacked that certain something that the first one had. I expected better but wasn`t sure whether it was because I didn`t see it on the big screen, which does make a difference I think. Quote
jemimapd Posted January 2, 2009 Author Posted January 2, 2009 I thought it lacked a certain something, too, and I saw it when it opened so I doubt your experience would have been different on the big screen. I still have hopes that the next one could/would be better. Quote
Suburbanite Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 Yeah, it doesn't surprise me. The first one was passable, but the second one just seemed to be trying to cash in as quickly as possible. Quote
pipread Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Fox saves Narnia franchise. That`s good news! hope it happens. I thought somebody might step in, with the right script it could be a winner. Quote
