gezmarelda
Me too! Have you read Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles? Apart from the vampires, they don't have a lot in common with Charlaine Harris's books but they're amazing! I've read the first three and I'm waiting for the fourth book to arrive from ebay. I'd highly recommend them I have them on my bookshelf but I haven't read them yet. I really need to get around to it. The nuber 9 book has arrived and I also got the narnia chronicles. Nicola
Yeah I like that bit too. That whole bit is a bit sleazy but I love that he tries to take care of her (at the same time and trying to get her to "yield" to him ) Ah yes....the yielding! Ahhhhhhhhhhh.....you just have to love that viking vampire man I have them on my bookshelf but I haven't read them yet. I really need to get around to it. Oooooh you should realy bump them up to the top of your tob be read list They're fantastic and for me, they just have a bit more substance to them than any other vampire related books that I've read. ~Andrea~
My bf is a fan of True Blood and is considering the books but is worried they might be a bit girly. I notice 90% of the people on this thread are women. How much do you think they would appeal much to men?

I notice 90% of the people on this thread are women. How much do you think they would appeal much to men? Well I know a lad who has a very similar taste in literature to me and he loves them! The books we've shared over the years are: The Northern Lights Trilogy by Phillip Pullman The Harry Potter books I Am Legend by Richard Matheson Haunted by Chuck Palahniuk Porno by Irvine Welsh Hope that helps you measure what your BF might like?? ~Andrea~
Thanks Nicola. That sounds a promising indication as he's read and enjoyed the Northern Lights and Harry Potter books.

Charm
Ooooh I'm so tempted! I think I'll resist, I'd just torture myself til the book is released!
chesilbeach
Ok, I admit it, I couldn't resist any longer. Just been over to the Charlaine Harris site and read the first chapter of Dead In The Family. And now I just want to read the rest of it Why did I have to do it? Why don't I have any willpower? I can see a re-read of some of the earlier books coming on now, as I need a Sookie fix

chesilbeach
It's a nightmare, isn't it? I almost wish authors didn't post excerpts online - I'd have thought only existing fans would read it, so it wouldn't increase the book sales. Having said that, it has definitely whetted my appetite and will probably buy the book in hardback rather than wait for the paperback, so maybe it does achieve its goal after all! I really would like the paperback as all the rest of my series is that way, but I dare say I'll be buying the hardback even though it won't match
chesilbeach
I've already got Dead and Gone in hardback, so I might as well get any future books in that format now! At least I get to read them as soon as they come out

Kell
I planned to spread them out over the year too, but I've already read one and started the 2nd - LOL! The first 4 are re-reads but I'm dying to refamiliarise myself with them so I can read the rest of the series!

I might have got it from the library, but I know there will be a queue of people reserving it, and I don't have enough patience to wait.
