Charm Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Well my new lovely Bookmark has dissappeared! My son was playing with my book and he lost it. so I have no resorted to using one of the kids 'Cars' Ruler. That sucks! I hope it turns up! I got four lovely bookmarks for Christmas, three of which were from kookie! A Little Miss Giggles magnetic one, a furry reindeer one, a wooden one with 'I Love You Mum' on it and a clip type one with a little cat on the end of it from a friend. I'm happy! Quote
Peacefield Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 I received a pink ribbon book mark with a cat charm on the end in my stocking yesterday, and I also received my second Edward bookmark (thanks, mom!). Quote
rachel kay Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 I got a pretty silvery bookmark for christmas with a crystal butterfly hanging from it. It's like my book has jewellery Quote

Rawr Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 I think i am going to start making my own bookmarks, and be on the lookout for nice looking ones Quote
catwoman Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 (edited) That sucks! I hope it turns up! It did turn up in the kitchen.. Eh? How, I do not know. I received a pink ribbon book mark with a cat charm on the end in my stocking yesterday, and I also received my second Edward bookmark (thanks, mom!). I want an Edward bookmark! I did get a late Christmas present off my friend from Germany (damn silly post) and it was 3 mini Mario Bookmarks. The reason because when we were at university we always used to play Mario on the old NES, anyway I have a Mario one, a Lugi one and some other random character that the kids did tell me the name. so I am really happy Edited December 30, 2009 by catwoman Quote
AbielleRose Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 I picked up a really cute metal bookmark today in Barnes and Noble. It is painted turquoise with the quote "Dreams are the touchstones of our character." by Thoreau etched into it with beaded tassles that have moon and star beads over turquoise and silver ribbon. Quote
Rawr Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 That sounds beautiful Bookmarks are very precious things sometimes i feel. Almost as vital as the book itself. Quote
AbielleRose Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 It made my day today I agree, they are very important. One of my favorites is a silver one with an Alamo charm that my dad got for me when he and my stepmom visited the Alamo in San Antonio, TX. I haven't been able to use it because I'm too scared of losing it! Quote
bethany725 Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 My mom just sent me a new one she made.. a flexible wire to go in between the pages, with pretty charms and beads on each end that hang out of the book. So fun! Quote
Nollaig Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 (edited) I bought a scrapbook-ing pack of materials the other day just because I liked the colours - terracotta, pale pink and yellow and gray/brown. It had little leaves, frames, textured card, string, and soft fabric paper in these colours. So I did what any bookworm would do, and made some bookmarks These are the first three, and I have two more planned. Edited January 4, 2010 by Nollaig Quote
Kylie Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 They're lovely, Noll! I'd never thought of making bookmarks out of scrapbooking materials. Looks like another project for me for the future. Quote
Nollaig Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 Thank you! They were a nuisance because the paper was so light I couldn't use glue - it left streaky marks, so the gold trims had to be selotaped at the back (and covered with a backing card) and the fronts are actually sewn on with yellow thread. Other than the sewing they only took about 15 mins each though. I've never made bookmarks before so I had to make these patterns up as I went along Quote

Making patterns should be pretty easy for you because I know you're very creative. (Now don't be modest; we've all seen your handiwork!) Quote
