The Library Nook
Although I have my blog I think a page here would be good for keeping a concise list of books read, books purchased and other bookish things:) I am also taking part in some challenges so this will be a way of keeping track of them easily. One day I would love to set up my own webiste for keeping track of things like this!

Janet
Ooooh - is the Shakespeare Challenge something online, or something you're doing yourself? I want to read more Shakespeare after I've finished my A Level English Lit in June - I've only studied 4 so far.
The Library Nook
Ooooh - is the Shakespeare Challenge something online, or something you're doing yourself? I want to read more Shakespeare after I've finished my A Level English Lit in June - I've only studied 4 so far. Its run through this blog at BiblioShakespeare I have wanted to read more Shakespeare for ages and this seemed the perfect way to actually do it! Janet
Thanks for the link. It's a pity (for me, anyway!) that the challenge ends on 30 June. I'm studying The Winter's Tale at the moment, but I can't possibly commit to any more Shakespeare until I've taken my exams - which are also in June. Good luck with it. I shall look forward to reading your progress.
The Library Nook
Oh that's a shame Janet, it would have been fun to have you involved! I have just finished The Book Thief and I just don't know what to say. What a wonderful but heart wrenching book.
Kell
It's a pity (for me, anyway!) that the challenge ends on 30 June. Doesn't mean you can't run it on your own and spread it out over the course of the whole year.

Janet
Doesn't mean you can't run it on your own and spread it out over the course of the whole year. That's a great idea! True, true. I've vowed to read more of the Bard's works so maybe I'll do it on here from June to whenever. I find reading the Oxford or Cambridge school's version and listening to the audio version helps. The Library Nook
I have been trying to think about which version to read. I remember at school we had versions that had the original on one page and then the opposite page was a 'translation' but I can't remember what they were. I can remember the cover to Measure for Measure though, I really enjoyed that!
justme
I see one of my favorites is included in a challenge. The Crimson Petal and the White was a very good book. I couldn't put it down.
The Library Nook
Just posted my review on my blog. In short- Great book! Also just finished A Short History of Tractors in Ukrainian - and here is the review.
JudyB
Great review! I too read it because of all the recommendations and I'm so glad I did as it turned out to be my favourite book of 2007. It was certainly thought provoking - making me wonder too how I would deal with those situations. It also made me think about life in Germany during the war. I liked your blog page too. The Library Nook
Thanks Judy:) I love blogging and talking about books a lot and hate when RL gets in the way lol!
Janet
I bought The Book Thief by Markus Zusak this morning! I haven't read the thread on here yet as I want to go into it fresh, so to speak.

Janet
I'm sure I will. It sounds great and I read the first few pages in the shop before I bought it and liked the writing style!
The Library Nook
This always happens when I read a non-fiction book- I don't read! Even though it is something I really want to read I get a kind of brain block. However to be fair I have done loads of work today instead so thats a positive I guess:)
The Library Nook
Started Memory Keepers Daughter and Notes from an Exhibition because Palin is too big to carry around. You can tell I am back teaching because my reading has gone right down lol!

The Library Nook
lol, you can tell I was on holiday when I am zoomed through that! Back at school now and my lovely class are lovely but exhausting! Plus I am reading lots of teaching books at the moment so it leaves little time for personal reading. The Library Nook
wow all the way down on page 3, naughty me. I am too tired to update now but will try and do it tomorrow. Basically gave up on Michael Crichton Airframe earlier and now reading The Creative Writing Handbook to try and get me back into the writing mood!
