Princess Orchid Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 No, but do you know when the series is meant to be on telly? Quote
Angel Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 The first episode was on Monday this week at 8.30 Quote
babypinkcandygirl Posted September 7, 2007 Author Posted September 7, 2007 oh my god it was amazing...the caramel croissant pudding was to die for! the only book i have so far is feast so if anybody has any recommendations that would be great ) xx Quote
Nici Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 I do love Nigella's style of cooking! The fact that she doesn't care about calories and fat content is great! Her food always looks delicous! Quote
babypinkcandygirl Posted September 8, 2007 Author Posted September 8, 2007 me too, i especially loved her crimbo programmes last december. i hope they repeat them again this year. i suppose ill be waiting in vain wishing for a christmas-only cookbook from nigella... it would be good tho! im determined to try her festive ham recipe when i get the chance Quote
NiceguyEddie Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 I do like her (what male doesn't?), but don't you think she's become a bit of a parody of herself? On TV that is. Quote
babypinkcandygirl Posted September 8, 2007 Author Posted September 8, 2007 as long as the recipes keep working i dont really mind...i find it quite funny actually. and some tv cooks are so boring Quote
Polka Dot Rock Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 I enjoyed it so much that the next day, I went and actually cooked the pork chops and gnocchi with cider, mustard and cream sauce! It was gorgeous! The recipe wasn't on the BBC website but I remembered it all, so if anyone wants it, let me know and I'll post it on here Quote
NiceguyEddie Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 I did the chicken and sweet potato recipe. I slightly modified it in that I used a chicken that I portioned & used some jerk seasoning on the chicken as I couldn't remember exactly what she used, but it was very nice & the potatoes were absolutely to die for! Polka Dot Rock Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 ...I slightly modified it in that I used a chicken that I portioned & used some jerk seasoning on the chicken as I couldn't remember exactly what she used... I believe she used cinammon, of all things! Unusual but since she convinced me to stick cream and cider together, I'll trust her. I was going to try that recipe too with chicken portions - how long did you stick it in the oven for? Quote
JudyB Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 I haven't bought her new book but if the two of hers that I already possess are to go by I'm sure it's worth buying. Her recipies are fab - I tend to use them when I'm entertaining - her chocolate cheesecake is a big favourite (and easy to make). Quote
Nici Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 i suppose ill be waiting in vain wishing for a christmas-only cookbook from nigella... Oh wouldn't that be fab! I love christmas cooking and do a lot of entertaining so that would be great! Quote
JudyB Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 I can't remember the title of it but one of her books is divided into occasions (is it Feast?) - and has some Christmas recipies - think I've had a go at one or two. Quote
~V~ Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 I bought the book today - it's £15 in Sainsbury It's lovely Quote
NiceguyEddie Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 I believe she used cinammon, of all things! Unusual but since she convinced me to stick cream and cider together, I'll trust her. I was going to try that recipe too with chicken portions - how long did you stick it in the oven for? About 45 minutes in a really hot oven. The sweet potato was amazing. Cinammon is not so odd. It's used in most curries. Just imagine what it will do to the potatoes as it seeps in. Quote
babypinkcandygirl Posted September 10, 2007 Author Posted September 10, 2007 yes feast is divided into sections, although i must admit when im reading it i very rarely make it past the christmas section:Dhas anybody tried her festive ham recipe? by the way i think nigella's making chocolate mousse on her show tonight so chocoholics stayed tuned! xxx Quote
