Athena Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Have you watched anything interesting lately? We finished watching Sherlock series three, which was good but not as good as the first two, in our opinion. I'm not sure which TV series we'll watch next. Quote
Inver Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 I have just watched 'Esio Trot' on the iPlayer with Judi Dench and Dustin Hoffman....it was excellent and such a feel good tale. Quote
bobblybear Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 I'm starting to watch Breaking Bad. Everyone raves about it so I have to see what the fuss is all about. Quote
Nollaig Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Breaking Bad is great. I've been watching a lot of Numb3rs lately. Really enjoyable show. It's very silly - solving crime with math - but once you can put the silliness aside and just go with it, it's a lot of fun and the characters are great. Quote
Kylie Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 I'm starting to watch Breaking Bad. Everyone raves about it so I have to see what the fuss is all about. Ooh, I hope you love it as much as I do! I recently finished watching it all for the second time. I have no doubt that I'll revisit it again and again in the future. I'm up to episode 3 in season 5 of The Good Wife. Quote
chesilbeach Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 I'm just watching the last episode of the Mapp and Lucia adaptation Quote
frankie Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 I think I'm about to witness something legendary! And an episode I don't think I've seen before, if it's possible. It's the Big Bang Theory episode where Sheldon goes on a date with Amy!!!! Quote
chesilbeach Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 PDC Darts semi-finals. Rooting for Gary Anderson who's in the lead against MVG at the moment… exciting game!!!! Quote
Athena Posted January 4, 2015 Author Posted January 4, 2015 I think I'm about to witness something legendary! And an episode I don't think I've seen before, if it's possible. It's the Big Bang Theory episode where Sheldon goes on a date with Amy!!!! That's a great one ! Quote
dex Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 I've started watching Justified from the beginning. Quote
Kylie Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 I've finished watching all of The Good Wife episodes, just in time to catch up with latest episode that aired in the US a day or two ago. Binge-watching a TV show immerses me in a different world so effectively that I always feel a bit lost when I've finished! Now I'm watching the cricket. Quote
Karsa Orlong Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 I watched the first two episodes of The Librarians and thought it was fun. Then the next two episodes were rubbish. Oh well I watched a re-run of episode 1x01 of Continuum on Syfy last night. Glad they're repeating this as I missed it first time around. They're stripping the first two seasons over the next three weeks in the run-up to the premiere of season 3 on the 28th. Quote
Nollaig Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 I'm about to rewatch 50/50. I love this movie XD Quote
~Andrea~ Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 I'm starting to watch Breaking Bad. Everyone raves about it so I have to see what the fuss is all about. I've just started watching this too. I had the box set for Christmas and have just got season one under my belt. It's awesome!! Quote
Kylie Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 I watched the first two episodes of The Librarians and thought it was fun. Then the next two episodes were rubbish. Oh well I thought the same thing! I watched the two lots of episodes a few weeks apart, so I was wondering if I had misremembered how good the first two were. Glad I'm not the only one! Sorry to say, but the Aussie actor really bugs me. I don't know if it's because his accent is so jarring next to all of the Americans or if he's just not a great actor (I feel bad for saying that). I'm re-watching The OC. Haven't seen this since it first aired all those years ago! Quote
Virginia Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 Just rented first two seasons of Northern Exposure. I wanted Game of Thrones but the first season was checked out. Quote
Karsa Orlong Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 I thought the same thing! The 4th episode was so bad not even Bruce Campbell could save it! The first couple were better when Noah Wyle was in them, he seemed to be having a lot of fun with the character. I haven't seen any of the movies that preceded the series - he was in all of them, I think. I don't know how many appearances he's going to make in the series The Aussie guy hasn't had much to do in the eps I've seen, to be fair, apart from boast about how good a thief he is - not much to work with so far. Christian Kane and Lindy Booth have had a bit of conflict between their characters to work with, so maybe he'll get a bit more to do later on Watched the second ep of Continuum last night. Already hooked Quote
Kylie Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 I was shocked when the 'original' librarian walked out the door at the end of the second episode. Then I looked up the show online and realised he wasn't going to be in the rest of the episodes. I thought 'why on earth did you focus the first two episodes on one character and then have him leave and tell me the show's not about him after all?!' I really like him and hope he appears much more regularly. I haven't watched the movies yet either, but I intend to do so soon. Quote
Karsa Orlong Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 Then I looked up the show online and realised he wasn't going to be in the rest of the episodes. I thought 'why on earth did you focus the first two episodes on one character and then have him leave and tell me the show's not about him after all?!' Probably to try and get a bigger audience in - and because he's executive producer. I would've been surprised if he'd stayed, though, given his commitment to Falling Skies. Mind you, that's finishing soon, so maybe he'll switch over to The Librarians full time if it gets another season Just watched the first two episodes of Agent Carter. Thought it was great! Loved the Carter/Jarvis relationship, the use of music and radio shows, the period feel to it. And it was very funny. Hayley Atwell has a great feel for comic timing. If it keeps the standard up all the way through I'll be really annoyed that it's only eight episodes. Quote
Virginia Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Big Bang reruns. Hubby and I are trying to find a series to settle in for the rest of winter. We love binge watching. I'm going to check hulu and Netflix to see if they have all the episodes of Hart of Dixie. Quote
Weave Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Father Brown ~ the joys of unemployment, it is a pretty good show Quote
frankie Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 Shield. Too tired to go to bed There's nothing else to watch. Quote
