muggle not Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 (edited) Nighttime is the Right Time - Ray Charles. (In 2011, music legend Glen Campbell set out on an unprecedented tour across America. He thought it would last 5 weeks; instead it went for 151 spectacular sold out shows over a triumphant year and a half. What made this tour extraordinary was that Glen had recently been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. He was told to hang up his guitar and prepare for the inevitable. Instead, Glen and his wife went public with his diagnosis and announced that he and his family would set out on a 'Goodbye Tour.' The film documents this extraordinary journey as he and his family attempt to navigate the wildly unpredictable nature of Glen's progressing disease using love, laughter and music as their medicine of choice. Special appearances include Bruce Springsteen, The Edge, Paul McCartney, Blake Shelton, Keith Urban, Brad Paisley, Steve Martin and Chad Smith among many others.) poppy Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 Bloody Well Right ~ Supertramp (that would be a great movie to see, Muggles. Very brave of him to make such a long tour. See it's his birthday today ) Quote
muggle not Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 I Wish You Well - Mariah Carey (The Glen Campbell film was a TV Special and was really good. During his performances he would sometimes forget the words and would get angry. It was sad to see the Alzheimers progressing but was also enlightening to see him not afraid to show himself as he "was".) Quote
poppy Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 (edited) When You Wish Upon a Star ~ Julie Andrews (It's very encouraging to other sufferers when well known personalities go public about their illnesses. Very brave too. I can remember our whole school being taught to sing Wichita Lineman at assembly. Our headmaster was very keen on music so it was great ) Edited April 22, 2016 by poppy Quote
