Happy belated Birthday ! I just downloaded that Menna van Pragg book ; it does look good. I`ve had At Grand Central Station I Sat Down and Wept in my ` buy at some point ` list, looking forward to your review. Er, no pressure.

Thanks ! I did hope that keeping an eye on book buying would make me more likely to read from my TBR rather than buy books, but clearly that didn`t happen.

New books ! Books1 are books I got with a Xmas voucher from a lovely friend ( top row, with the Marie Kondo Book). When I ordered, Amazon were doing a ` spend £50, get £10 off` day - and I wanted Arrow S1-3 BluRay and the latest Coldplay CD too, which meant I spent enough to qualify for the promotion - the second row ( with No Bed for Bacon ) are those free books. And `cos I`d ordered any book, Amazon gave me a free Kindle book too ( from a choice of 6, I picked Divergent ). Book 2 are books from the Save the Kitties shop, all 50p each ( I also got a beautiful hardback of Amy Tan`s Saving Fish from Drowning, to replace my paperback ). Books3 are other books wot I got recently. Er, viewing some books may involve the use of Yoga poses.

The author plugs her previous book ; one of the characters is shown reading the book and saying how great it is. Bleah !

I think there`s at least one more to come. The Woman who Died a Lot was book 7, and there`s mention of a book called Dark Reading Matter, which would be Book 8 here. ( 15th Jan posting ).

Enjoy your new books and PC ! I`ve seen the TV series of Robert Wilson`s Falcon ( it was dreadful ! ) and have A Small Death in Lisbon in my TBR. How are your Furry Ones ? Xiao-Xiao is just at my feet, needing a cuddle.

Ah no, I meant that other Boardies are reading it this year. I`m fully up to date with Jasper Fforde and his wonderful worlds. I hope you enjoy The Eyre Affair; from memory, I think it took me about 60 pages to really get into it. I`ve reread it a few times since ( every time there`s a new Thursday Next book, I do a reread beforehand). I`ve put the Neil Gaiman book in my ` buy at some point` list ; I`ve only read his Good Omens.

Thanks ! I did enjoy my Ngaio Marsh reread ; you just keep reading `em in order and you don`t have to think about picking out a book to read next. I`ve just got her collected short stories to go and then comes the hard part - picking out a book to read from my 804 book TBR. Aaaaack !
