  1. I still haven't read Marley & Me, I think the trailers for the film put me off, but as frankie has recommended it I have now added it to my wish list.. I have A Street Cat Named Bob on my shelf and I think I will be getting around to it soon. I have read quite a few doggy books and from last years reading I can highly recommend A Dog's Purpose: A Novel for Humans by W. Bruce Cameron, I found the first chapter or two a little odd but loved it once I got the gist of it.. here's a link.. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dogs-Purpose-novel-humans/dp/144721062X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1357425425&sr=8-1
  2. I wish I'd taken a pic now but didn't occur to me at the time.. Bob was just so chilled, sitting on his little blanket, no leash or anything, calming letting people pet him, one cool cat!
  3. Yes I do that sometimes but now reading Rebecca as have heard such good reports on here, am about 80 pages in and loving it so far... That's what I said................ I bought it last year after meeting James and Bob in Covent Garden (London) last year, I really want to get around to it soon, have finished 3 books already this year so hopefully won't be too far in the future, long may my mojo reign!
  4. Hope your mojo heads back soon.
  5. Hope your mojo picks up soon Michelle, nothing like a bit of pressure to put you off things, just read what you fancy as that's what reading should be all about.
  6. Because I lay on my side when reading, and because Obi sleeps beside my bed he has been known to have a book dropped on him when I fall asleep reading, I'm sure he'll prefer the Kobo, it's much lighter!!
  7. Thanks Ooshie, I'd better or i'll be having words with a few members on here!
  8. Think I'm going to give 'Rebecca' a shot, it's been on the TBR shelf far too long.
  9. Quiet morning so started and finished Petals in the Ashes, the sequel to At the Sign of the Sugared Plum... Undecided as to what to read next..
  10. I'm planning on watching Les Mis on my own during the day when the kids are at school for that reason...
  11. But 'hot' is sometimes the only word to truly suffice...(and I'm a 41 year old woman with a pretty decent vocabulary!
  12. Love the socks, I'm a big fan of cosy socks, then again probably everyone in the UK probably is! Looks like a great book selection too, do you deliberately choose books with quirky titles?
  13. Finished Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks, good read.
  14. Been there done that! Definitely read Me Before You first and don't be fooled by the cover, it's so much more than it suggests.
  15. I was a bit like that at the beginning, and whilst it never really speeds up it does become more involved.
  16. I'll be interested to see if you enjoy it Ben, I have a pre-conceived idea that it is a book that would more likely appeal to women?
  17. I've only read one book so far on my Kobo but it did seem to read faster but that could've been because it was a particularly good read.. I would agree though with the percentage bar challenge and the fact that it is easier to hold or just prop up while eating and drying my hair!
  18. Happy reading in 2013 Diane! 'Me Before You' ~ JoJo Moyes (book from my 2012 Santa list) 'The Midwife's Confession ~ Diane Chamberlain These were two of my favourite reads from last year, My Mum recommended Diane Chamberlain to me and I was pleasantly surprised, I thought she would be a bit Jodi Piccoult but I felt the writing was a lot more accomplished and have since read The Good Father and added two more to my TBR shelf..
  19. I love your 52 weeks challenge and wish you luck, most of them look like nice things to do which I think is a lovely way to plan your year, have fun!
  20. Maybe one day, but certainly no time soon...
  21. It's a fantastic book Karen, a book everyone should read.
  22. Cold water and lemon juice works wonders!!
  23. Oh that's a shame but never mind, Obi's only 9 and getting more and more chilled with age so hopefully by the time you meet him he'll be very cool Steve DID get me the Wolf Sanctuary membership for Christmas so I'll be walking with wolves sometime this year, if it's any good it may be worth a visit when you do manage to get over! Finances, don't you just hate them sometimes!! I really need to get a little more excited about my TBR books, it's a shame as I was very excited about them when I bought them, but I must put my trust in fellow BCF members who have loved so many of these books and get on with it! The Kobo is indeed an ereader, I wasn't happy getting the Kindle with a light as I'd heard mixed reports on the quality of the light so I went for the Kobo Glo and I have to say so far I've finished one book on it and am having to make myself read a tree book before I'm allowed to read another ebook, it was a surprising good experience! Thanks for your good wishes, and a very happy 2013 to you too!
  24. The Book Thief The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas The Midnight Palace (another Zafon) The Hunger Games Divergent and following books in trilogy by Veronica Roth I'm sure there are lots more...
  25. I lurve football but then I was brought up with it, I didn't stand a chance! I think I have enough of TSotW still in my head but the reviews of TAG have put me off a little as reviewers have said it's not as good as TSotW, there's only one way to find out I suppose!
