  1. It's been a while since I was last on here, so I've made it a New Years Resolution to come back, as well as read many books from new authors Since Christmas, I've read two books and well into the third! Hidden Killers by Lynda La Plante - one of my favourite authors. Was tense through out, just like all La Plante titles and made a fantastic read. The Waters Of Eternal Youth by Donna Leon - I had never heard of this author prior to seeing the book featured in a magazine that I buy. It's actually part of a series but I thought I would still give it a try. You can read this title as a standalone without having read a previous book from the series. I would advise getting through the first chapter as it then becomes a brilliant read! I'm now reading Dead Man's Time by Peter James - it was a gift from my grandparents for Christmas and for once they bought a book that I actually wanted to read The plot seems very tense at the moment and is definitely one of those books which you don't really want to put down! I do like the Roy Grace series from James! Another New Years Resolution is to start reviewing each title I read, so I might just start with Dead Man's Time when I've finished it!
  2. I have two large bookcases in my small 1 bedroom flat, there is no more room for books so the rest are kept at my parents. Some in my old room, some in the loft and the rest in my sister's room (my sister never reads, so just using some of her room as storage, hehe)
  3. I haven't read as many books as I would have liked to, been very busy the last couple of months. Started reading 'The Snow Child' by Eowyn Ivey, still a bit early to know exactly how I feel about this book, seems to be slow in some places, however, you definitely get to know the character's well.
  4. It's snowing!! We don't usually get much snow in Bournemouth, seems to go round us! Today i had to text my boss to say i couldn't get to work! Usually i would have tried, but the past week i have been staying at my partner's parents, who live out in the sticks in Hampshire. It's an hour away from work in dry weather so there was no way i could have gone in! Having a day of hot chocolate, hot water bottle and reading!
  5. It's SNOWING! No work for me today! :)

Bet you're snow-deep in your latest "read" Bianca. Enjoy!

  6. I might have to take a trip down to the library and borrow this book! I want to see what all the fuss is about!
  7. I read 'A Street Cat Named Bob' by James Bowen at the beginning of January. It's a book written by a homeless, recovering heroin addict, with the help of a journalist he met while out selling The Big Issue. It tells the story of how a cat found him and would follow him everywhere he went, he believes that the cat helped him fight his addictions and get him back on his feet. It's a very moving story which also shows how tough life is living on the street! After reading this book, i actually went and bought The Big Issue from a homeless man near my flat who is out in all weather with his pet dog! I started reading 'Is It Just Me?' by Miranda Hart, the comedian, yesterday. It's actually really funny! She shares many of her personal embarrassments and humiliations and interrupts throughout with her 18-year-old self giving updates of her boarding school life! A great read!
  8. I read the Da Vinci Code and quite enjoyed it. I do have another one of his books at home, which i picked up cheap from a charity shop and still haven't got round to reading. I can't even remember the title :s I will read it soon though! I don't mind Dan Brown at all and will quite happily read more of his books after enjoying The Da Vinci Code!
  9. Just started reading World War Z by Max Brooks, a great book!
  10. I am the Marketing Co-ordinator with a magazine publishers, it can be quite hard work sometimes. My dream job would be to work with animals
  11. I had always purchased from Amazon, it is so much cheaper than anywhere else. After hearing about this, i dont think i want to continue buying from them now. Going to have a look around and see if i can find any second hand bookshops nearby!
  12. My favourite films have to be: Shaun of The Dead Ghost Dirty Dancing Grease The Green Mile The Lost Boys
  13. Just became a member of Love Film! My partner had American Pie The Reunion sent through, not something i enjoyed, never watched the previous ones. This was the last film i watched. Waiting for 'Trainspotting' and 'The Lost Boys' to come through and the Second Series of 'The Walking Dead' having missed it while it was on the T.V
  14. Finished the second book within the Dexter series! An amazing series! Unfortunately I have to wait a bit before I can buy the third book So, in the meantime I am going through my enormous TBR pile from my bookcase! Just started 'The Green Mile' by Stephen King, a fantastic book! I love both the film and the book!
  15. I finished reading Darkly Dreaming Dexter which was an amazing book. Definitely one of my favourites of 2012. Whilst i was waiting for the second book in the series, i read 'The Devil's Garden' by Richard Montanari, it was quite a good book however did take some time to get into it. I have just started reading 'Dearly Devoted Dexter' again a fantastic read, I am loving the Dexter series!
  16. Nearly finished 'Darkly Dreaming Dexter'. It's a great read! I have just bought the second book from the series, so hopefully it will arrive by the time i have finished the first!
  17. I did read 'IT' once, didn't enjoy it though, i kept wanting to get to the end and the story seemed to drag. I haven't read any of Stephen King's other books, yet i want to read Green Mile, i loved the film.
  18. I try and avoid books that are known to have sad endings, however, a couple of years ago i read Lovely Bones, i just could not stop crying
  19. I can only read one book at a time! Otherwise i get confused
  20. I remember being dragged to the cinema with two friends to watch the first part of the last film and not understanding anything that was going on. So, i decided to read all 7 books before the second part of the film came out in the cinema! I actually thought they were great! It will be interesting to see how JK Rowling does with writing outside of the Harry Potter world and with aiming the book at a totally different audience. I want to read this book purely because of the hype surrounding it, just so i can see for myself if the book is good or not, however, i will have to wait till it comes out in paperback. I'm not too keen on hardbacks or on spending that much on a book.
  21. So i finished 'A Necessary End' by Peter Robinson and because i could not wait for the first book from the 'Dexter' series to arrive through the door, i had to start a book that my mum had just finished reading. It's called 'Play Dead' by Richard Montanari. Only a few pages in so far but seems very gory and should be a good read
  22. I went to the cinema last wednesday to watch The Sweeney. An amazing film that had me sat on the edge of my seat throughout! I thought it was fantastic!
  23. I fill two floor to ceiling bookcases in my small flat and because i have no more room, i have had to buy a bookcase for my old bedroom at my parents and then I have boxes full of books in my parent's attic. Not sure exactly how many books i own, but it is a lot
  24. Just ordered Darkly Dreaming Dexter from Amazon! Should receive it by the end of the week and can then start reading the series
