  1. I've finished Pride, Prejudice and Zombies . Just realized it's after midnight though, oops! I'm off to bed and will hopefully collect my thoughts as I sleep and post a review tomorrow.
  2. I've not heard of Lightning in a Bottle, but it looks excellent! Lots of great musicians there, wow. I keep the Chili Peppers' Live at Slane Castle dvd by my TV at all times. I'm always in the mood for it .
  3. Wait a second. Is this the version of Dracula with Gary Oldman? He was kinda sexy in that one...
  4. Talk about cruel, Tom! I'll have you know that sparkles are very good for both the mind and spirit . You better not give that remote back to me all covered in gravy! Btw, Twins are now up 3-0 and I have yet to hear a proposal to me from our catcher. Pffttt.
  5. Welcome to BCF, WebWalker! Love Les Paul, btw, so I'll have to check out that doc. Have you seen 'It Might Get Loud?' Most excellent film.
  6. *Sigh* It's so sad when a young mind gets corrupted . You try and try, but sometimes they just can't be saved...
  7. Oh NO!! Rawr's corrupted Cali! Please, Cali, give me the remote.
  8. It must've been delayed here for some reason, Lexie, which would be weird, but I swear I just started seeing it advertised! Although I have been wandering around in a New Moon haze since last November so maybe I just missed it .
  9. Had a piece of dark chocolate and am now sipping on some Crystal Lite. A new flavor for me, 'wild strawberry.' Pretty good .
  10. The delay in paperback release was probably due to money. It was on the best seller list for so long, and we all know the longer it does well the longer it takes to become paperback. Too bad BD was my least fave of the series . I'm looking forward to the Host coming in PB though, since I've yet to read that one.
  11. About to dig into my dinner - asparagus and grilled shrimp.
  12. Snorkeling Fontina or Gouda cheese?
  13. I loved Up in the Air, Susie. It wasn't exactly what I expected so I liked that . I'm sorry you didn't get too excited over The Reader, Nienna. That was definitely my favorite movie released in 2008 - I just thought Winslet did amazing. I have the book on my TBR shelf though, so who knows, I may like it better than the film . In between Vampire Diaries and The Mentalist last night I watched one of my favorite West Wing episodes, '17 People.'
  14. I second the recommendation of 'The Thirteenth Tale' by Setterfield, Susie. I loved that one! Spooky, and such a great story . I haven't read any Morton yet, but I have House at Riverton on my TBR shelf.
  15. Oatmeal with strawberries and banana...
  16. I couldn't sleep last night so at least I could get a lot of reading in of PP&Z! I have about 50 pages left so I'm looking forward to finishing it this weekend .
  17. The Mentalist. Hellooooo Simon!
  18. Yep, we call it french toast here in the midwest too and I've only ever made the sweet version. It falls into the same category for me as pancakes and waffles . I beat 2 eggs, some milk and a little cinnamon and coat french bread slices in it, then fry it up! We top it with butter and maple syrup, so it's lucky I only ever make it about once a year, hee!
  19. My favorite of late - sauteed chicken, mushrooms, onions and zuchinni all swimming in a sesame/balsamic sauce .
  20. Someone threw some red licorice over my cubicle wall so I'm munching on that .
  21. What a catch you are, Mac! I love cooking too. For the past 5 years or so I've really gotten into experimenting with recipes and figuring dishes to make with fresh produce. In the past many of my meals came from a box but now I can't stand that kind of stuff. Trying different wines to cook with too is something I love, plus finding the perfect one to drink along with a meal. Yum!
  22. Wonderful, Chesil! I hope you like the written version just as much as the miniseries .
  23. I'm glad you plan on eating that jam doughnut, Mexicola, and not just letting it sit there. Currently having a banana and a cup-o-coffeeeeee .
  24. I finally watched 'The Blind Side' tonight after having avoided it for so long. It would normally be too much of a 'feel good' movie for me, and if people tell me over and over how good a movie is, it almost turns me off! Anyway, I did enjoy this one very much and I ended up shedding a tear. Or two .
