  1. Art was hilarious, Weave, I agree. I also loved his friends Ronny and Nikki. Oh and I hadn't realized that Rebecca Pigeon was in it playing Art's mother. She's in another one of my favorite films, The Spanish Prisoner, and if I'm not mistaken is married to David Mamet .
  2. Maybe they weren't 'wolfed up' enough for their shots! The premiere just needs to get here already. I hope you don't have to work the day it comes out, Weave!
  3. Oh no, where's Seth and Paul?? That's odd.
  4. Yeah, Leah looks really annoyed, as she should! Jasper looks scary too. I just realized, where's Boo-Boo? Or am I missing something? Is there another wolf missing too?
  5. Really well, Dimitra! And I'm not just saying that because I'm a wee bit biased . It's just right up my movie alley and I loved how quirky and hilarious it was. I would highly recommend it if you like indie English comedies. Can I ask your reasons for not liking Crazy Heart and Fantastic Mr. Fox as much as IMDB, WebWalker?
  6. Oooooh nice, Weave, thanks! You hit the Eclipse jackpot today! They all look so great! Yayyyy!
  7. Ditto on the Buckley, Mexicola! Another one that comes to mind right now is Rage Against the Machine's cover of Dylan's Maggie's Farm, and I really like Chris Cornell's version of Redemption Song because I'm not a fan of Marley at all. I might be back later if I think of more...
  8. Yellow zucchini, onions, mushrooms and chicken, all swimming and happy in sesame sauce .
  9. I watched How To Be last night and practically laughed myself off the sofa. It was exactly my type of film and I loved it!
  10. Frankie, we in the US use the word booty also for a present or money. Haven't you ever heard of the Pirate's Booty snacks? I read quite a bit in bed last night from Industrial Magic, falling asleep with my book open and the light on, oops!
  11. This movie topic has reminded me to list my favorites and to-be-seen to my own coffeehouse thread, Frankie. Have you visited btw? Even if you don't drink coffee we also have tea and fat-free hot chocolate of course! Plus we have a barista that looks bares an uncanny resemblence to Vincent so you can't go wrong!
  12. Dead Poets is good for the top of the list! I won't be obnoxious and tell you that New Moon goes up there, since obviously I like that movie for other reasons . Book first definitely for Ordinary People, Frankie. The movie's wonderful, but reading the book is will give you the bigger picture before you seen the film. It won the Oscar over The Godfather if I'm not mistaken! Oh! I believe you also need to add Buffalo '66 to your list. Must see Vincent Gallo!
  13. I can see what you mean about a new BG movie not being as magical. I always wondered though in the back of my mind what would've happened. I always hoped that Willie dropped his '7' girlfriend and came back to find Marty years later... Your movie lists look good, Frankie! Ordinary People is really a wonderful book/movie, even though sad. It won the Oscar that year and was such a touching story. Definitely in my top 10 .
  14. Oooh what did you think, Cali? I hope you liked it! Veggie pizza at mom's tonight was for dinner. Very exciting...
  15. Woo Twins won earlier today, 8-3! Right now I'm watching 'How to Be.'
  16. I popped into 1/2 Price Books today and picked up the next Kelley Armstrong book, Haunted, and also got The House at Midnight by Lucie Whitehouse which looks really creepy and good! It's got praise listed on it from John Connolly and Lee Child, so I thought it couldn't be half bad, and it was only $2!
  17. I'll have to look for this one, Weave! Is it part of a series?
  18. A tray appeared from behind the door, floating in mid-air. Presumably there was some flunky behind the door holding it. Or so I hoped. With necromancers, one can never be sure. Industrial Magic - Kelley Armstrong (I had to throw in the 4th sentence since it just made me laugh )
  19. I think I just saw on the hockey thread that you hoped the Hawks advanced, Karsa! I'm just bitter - they've beat us too many times and there's a big rivalry between our teams.
  20. Twins baseball. Hopefully the game against Cleveland will turn out better than it did last night .
  21. I'm from Minnesota, Karsa, and the Wild just didn't do well at all this year. Oh how I long for the days of the Northstars! I'm surprised about the Capitals as well. Are you rooting for any team in particular? I don't know where Chicago, stands, but all I know is that I don't want them to win, LOL.
  22. I agree completely, Coffin! It wasn't overwhelming and was easy to understand. If you like the medical aspect, you might want to check out Iain Pears' book 'The Instance of the Fingerpost.' It's one of my all-time favorites and deals somewhat with the time period where they were just discovering different medical procedures. Any Starbucks time is good time, right Chesil?! I'm heading over to my mom's later and of course I volunteered to pick up a Starbucks for her on my way there! Plus something for myself .
  23. Okay then! I'm adding the Cast books and will take a look next time I hit 1/2 Price Books. Thanks for the info on your spreadsheet! I love making those things and have always thought about doing one for books but never knew what info to include. I know what you mean about reviews. I struggle each time I post one when I finish a book because I just don't think I put thoughts into words very well.
  24. I approve of 2 hours in Starbucks, Chesil! Wtg! Is this the first time you've read Rebecca? I felt the same way about it, but enjoyed it very much.
  25. I sat in a hotel room, across from two thirty-something witches in business suits, listening as they said all the right things. Industrial Magic - Kelley Armstrong
