I couldn't agree more. There is always some a**hole that insists on kicking your chair or having a casual conversation somewhere behind you.

I'll be recommended something by a friend or lent a book and if I like it I actively seek out other books from that title... guess that makes me European. The other is very much like Nollaig and Donna in the fact that she will pickup books completely at random and then find books by the same author before picking up completely random ones midway through a series.

This all sounds great. Can we get a proper cooking thread going where people can post their recipes. I love cooking but I don't know many recipes.

You're not wrong! I guess you are building up to his Void saga then?

I have finally finished The Neutronium Alchemist. What an outstandingly great book. I can't wait to start The Naked Book to conclude the trilogy.

The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. Everyone needs that amount of humour in their life.

I've never actually re-read anything other than The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy series. I laughed so hard at those book I had to read them all in succession as soon as I'd finished them.

Hello and welcome to the community. I'd like to suggest the Dark Tower series by Stephen King. There are so many varying degrees of different types of Fantasy Fiction in all of the books of the series that it is very hard not to like them. A little food for thought there. How long have you been studying for the medical profession?

I would say 2 of Stephen Kings Books... Shawshank Redemption The Stand The Shawshank book cast "Red" as a White Ginger bloke but obviously The god that is Morgan Freeman is neither of those and I think it changed the relationship between Red and Andy considerably (for the better, in case of the film.) The Stand book was just long and boring and didn't hold my attention at all but I found the films (2 Parts) were actually very well directed and entertaining.

Hello and welcome. I've no doubt you'll find this forum a hell of a lot better than some local book club. You attend when ever you want to, no matter what time of day/night it is... and you don't have to eat Dorris' mouldy old cake that she baked at the turn of the century and thought that everyone might like it one evening at the club and pretend to like it.

I just don't have time to to complete a chapter before I but a book down... especially not a Peter F. Hamilton Chapter. I finsih where I think I can resume the next day or so, preferable not mid conversation.

Got The Book Of Eli on Blu-Ray yesterday. I love every aspect of the film. The acting is outstanding (As can be expected with Denzel Washington and Gary Oldman), the score is stunningly suited to the film and actually brilliant as reading music (Artist is Atticus Ross... look him up), Cinematography/Photography is breathtaking, and the storyline is thoroughly entertaining. Easily in my Top 5 of films.

Has the scary lady gone yet?

I think you can tell quite a bit about a person by what they use to get around. So I was just wondering, What do you use to get from A to B. I want details too, like make, model, year, colour, etc. I drive everywhere in my 3dr, Grey, Ford Focus 1.6. I love it to bits. It's got heated leather seats , heated front windscreen to clear the condensation super quick in the mornings, and it makes me happy. The fiancee abuses it quite a bit thought. She tends to leave all her coats on the back seat and slams the doors and the boot too much.

Yesterday I finally managed to put aside my PS3 and my PC and sit down to read. Took about 3 hours out of The Neutronium Alchemist, and didn't even seem to make a dent. If it had been a normal sized book I reckon it would have been at least a quarter of the book.

Truly outstanding. You'd never think that a theatre production could actually scare you as much as it does. I couldn't recomment it highly enough. especially as it's one of the cheaper shows in London as well.

Was given a couple books by a colleague yesterday as he did not want them. "White Powder, Green light" by James Hawes, and "The Wrong Kind of Blood" by Declan Hughes. Has anyone read these? What did you think?

I've seen the Theatre adaptation of The Woman In Black 3 or 4 times now and I believe that is adapted from Susan Hill's book. The Small Hand certainly sound very interesting. Great review Weave.
