Had to chuckle to myself when reading P326 of Dying Light; while on an observation exercise the 'team' were bored & started playing a game of Had-To-Or-Die, ie naming someone they'd rather die than sleep with!
Anyone brave enough to start that thread on here LOL!

Well I'm on 'Dying Light' now; 1/2 way through & enjoying this one even more!
I was even in the 'Granite City myself this week, even on the Mastrick Ind Estate but didn't see the Mastrick Monster!
Loved DI Steels quote on P256 of Dying Light:
'Ah....politics, Sergeant. When the top brass hand you a turd, you polish it & say, "my, what a lovely jobbie!" That way they are impressed by your intellect, perception & ability. If you don't, all you've got is a handful of s**t.

Anyone else watch this? Currently on E4 Thursday nights at 10 (UK).
If so how do you rate it?
I'm a bit embarrassed really; I mean I'm obviously male to start with, could probably double for Phil Mitchell's dad, have no effeminate side to note & I think its one of the best programs on TV!

Is that a phone, Jim?
Well it's supposed to be; when it works!
When it doesn't they send you a refurbished one that's broke down on someone else before you! Furthermore it's been refurbished to the same faulty standard it was originally manufactured to!

McBride sounds really interesting, I've never read anything by him. Which book would be the best suggestion for a newbie to him?

Coffee drinkers have more sex and they enjoy it more. Who would have thunk it?
Doesn't seemed to have had that effect on Mrs Mappelle:blush:
There again, maybe it has & I've not been invited:irked:

Logan, Insch & Steel; brilliant.
Only problem I have at the moment is when someone asks me what I'm reading & what its about! (Currently on Cold Granite).
"Ah well, its about a load of gruesome child murders, kiddie fiddler investigations, that sort of thing, it's really funny too"!!!
Bit of a conversation stopper really!

Up to chapter 25 of Cold Granite, what a damn good read. I never thought such a gruesome topic could provide such an entertaining read. Probably one of the best books I've read.

Well, UK BBC radio 2 listeners will be aware that the popular 'breakfast slot' has had a change of resident DJ this year from Sir Terry Wogan to Chris Evans.
What's the verdict?
For me I like them both; missing the Janet & John series though!
