  1. Finished Before I Go To Sleep before I went to sleep last night.
  2. You must've gone to the posh parts I find London a very unfriendly place, I must admit. I sit on the tube in the morning and nobody even looks at each other, let alone talks. Mind you, at least they don't disturb me while I'm reading my book I'm sure it was. It's either that or that you were in London and you could speak English. It's a rarity these days! (controversial!!)
  3. This is what I think as well. I'm quite interested in the Fire but, if and when I get one, I doubt I'd use it for reading - my eyes are bad enough as it is!
  4. Has anyone read the graphic novel Habibi by Craig Thompson? I saw someone reading it on the tube yesterday and it looked amazing but also rather daunting, as it's huge!
  5. Do you think it's because there are a lot more distractions for kids these days? I know my friend's boy hardly read at all - apart from video game magazines and guidebooks - until just recently, when he read the Harry Potter books. He'd far rather be playing on his Playstation. Jeez, that makes me sound old
  6. Pretty much http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flies_graveyard http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garibaldi_biscuit
  7. Garibaldi biscuit anyone?
  8. Bear in mind that you can't get the Kindle Fire in the UK at the moment. The Kindle Keyboard is a better bet than the new £89 version, I think, but that's purely because I'd rather have the physical keyboard than a virtual on-screen one.
  9. Have you tried any Tom Clancy? Rainbow Six is worth a look, as is The Sum of All Fears. And your English is good!
  10. Kindle TBR list added to post 2: http://www.bookclubf...post__p__282073
  11. Not to mess with your maths, Frankie, but I just went a bit mad on Amazon. I saw they were selling Phil Rickman's 'Merrily Watkins' books for 90p each on Kindle, and I really enjoyed his 'The Bones of Avalon' when I read it a few months back, so the following have just been added to my TBR list: http://www.amazon.co...27491888&sr=1-1 http://www.amazon.co...f=pd_sim_kinc_3 http://www.amazon.co...f=pd_sim_kinc_5 http://www.amazon.co...f=pd_sim_kinc_2 http://www.amazon.co...f=pd_sim_kinc_6 http://www.amazon.co...f=pd_sim_kinc_1
  12. Oh gawd, I just added six books to my TBR list I noticed Amazon were selling Phil Rickman's 'Merrily Watkins' novels for 90p each, so I had to go and buy six of them, didn't I? Didn't I??
  13. I get to pick. Wow, thanks! See - manners
  14. Hang on, did you just call me a liar?
  15. Aww, I liked you anyway, Kylie. All the Aussies I've known have always been well-mannered. And when I went to Toronto I couldn't believe how polite everyone was over there. People in London have no manners (apart from me). It's a fact. <<moistens tongue in preparation>> You do. You really do.
  16. BBC would be prepared to take legal action against the makers of the forthcoming US Holmes series, Elementary: http://www.independe...rk-6292682.html
  17. Exsqueaze me??? I'll have you know I'm the sort of person who lets ladies go first and holds the door open for people. And then gets annoyed when they don't say 'thank you' There's a BIG spider over there. Just thought I should warn you.
  18. Just got 3rd row tickets to see Dream Theater at Wembley next month. Woohoo! And I don't even like them anymore. Woohoo!

Blimey that takes me back. I remember being dragged by my mate to see them back in around '96. They were awesome and I didn't like them either!

LOL! I used to love them, but not so much anymore. I've been listening to some of the older stuff, though, and some of it was great! Haven't seen them on the last couple of tours so should be interesting ...

  19. To be fair, I did manage to gross myself out with that one, too
  20. You'd like to think so, wouldn't you? Bless her, she taught me all these manners and then doesn't use them herself I thought so When you come out of the corner you can go on the naughty step
  21. Nah - I only lick them if they're alive.
  22. I'm up to about 80% of the way through Before I Go To Sleep.
  23. I found one with a fly squashed between the pages once. I didn't lick it.
  24. Not anymore. I taught her to ask, not tell Great! That gives me an excuse not to do it
  25. Glad I could help! No more than you usually do There you go expecting me to multi-task again! Yes mum Only problem is I'm not at home so can't see my books! I suppose I could add the Kindle ones when the boss isn't looking ...
