Hi everyone, I'm Tina (which isn't too difficult to deduce, is it), I'm 20 and live in the lovely city of Tampere, Finland. I've been reading a lot, both fiction and non-fiction, ever since I actually learnt to read. I also enjoy poetry. I don't always have the time to read as much as I'd like to, but I've lately been catching up a lot - one of the good sides of taking a year off from the uni and working only at times. ;-)
My introductions often get out of hand, I apparently like talking. I try to make this short and somewhat sensible (I have a flu and some temperature, so I'll blame that if I fail).
So, yes, I studied at the uni here in Tampere, translation science, but I decided to quit that and find something that suits me better. Besides reading I love music, mainly different kinds of rock. Animals are also close to my heart, I am an active member in two animal rights organizations and have two dogs, two aquariums and occasional homeless cats temporarily staying with me until they find new homes. I also like crafts, I knit and crochet a lot. And tattoos, I love them too.
My first proper favourite book was The Lord of the Rings. It's still an important book to me, even though I don't read that much fantasy anymore. I guess the main motivation for my reading is a certain kind of curiosity. I believe that one can learn a bit of this and that from almost any book, whether it is fiction or non-fiction. I could try and drop some names to give you some picture of my taste in books. The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera, Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by Hunter S. Thompson, Hesse's works, some of Coelho's works of the fictional ones, Please Kill Me by Legs McNeil and Gillian McCain, All those Wasted Years by Ari V
