  1. Yesterday's leftovers of some Chinese take-away, chicken and onion in oyster sauce. Tomorrow I'm going to cook a proper dinner, for the first time this week. It's been a lazy week so far, haha.
  2. It's difficult to answer this one, since it really depends on the whole situation I'm in, sometimes I have more time for books, sometimes I just don't feel like focusing on reading that much, sometimes I have some educational books to read along with the just-for-fun books... I voted for three+, because that's how it tends to be mostly. I usually have something like one non-fiction book going and then a novel or two or some poetry. For example, I've lately been studying on my own to get the basics of a certain thing learned, so I have had a pile of those books plus a novel going on at the same time.
  3. I went to the library and now have some Bret Easton Ellis, Kundera and Guillou waiting to be read. Still reading Kerouac's Lonesome traveler, I haven't had much time for reading lately. Now I'm planning to get a cup of tea and focus only on reading for a couple of hours. Ah.

    Your Age?

I'm 20, turning 21 (so I chose the 21-30 option). I love this age, I'm still young but able to do whatever I want. Ah.
  5. Some bread and orange-mango juice. I so need something sweet, too... Maybe some chocolate mousse.

    Tattoos!

Indeed. I don't like the feeling of being tattooed, but tolerating it means that I really want the tattoo done. I think it's completely okay to go through some pain to have something permanent done to your body. I like going under the needle alone, I don't need or want any friends with me. It is, however, okay if someone wants to come. I once had a friend of mine with me and it had its plus sides, too. She was with me when I got the swallows done, because it took so little time and we were going for a dinner after that, so why not. :-) Like promised, picture of my cherry blossoms. I wanted them to be delicate and feminine and very pretty. I dress very femininely and use the colour pink as a highlight often, so these indeed suit me. These were done by J-P of a place called Putka, I really liked the result and loved the fact that the guy so completely understood what I was aiming for when I explained what I want. Click for the pic. And another one, showing the positioning a bit better. Make-up free me, topped with a silly expression and hair covered in hairspray of the previous night out, yay!
  7. French fries and chicken meatballs. Simple things rule when it comes to food, at least today.

    Tattoos!

It's actually pretty common that people start feeling dizzy and even pass out when getting a tattoo. It's mostly because of the excitement, you might end up being too concentrated on the tattoo that's being done and forget to breathe properly and then you start feeling bad. It happened to me when I got the swallows on my fingers done, the tattoo artist warned me that it's gonna hurt and I probably focused on that thought a bit too much :-D I noticed the dizziness striking me and asked for a little break, after that it went all fine. It's very important to me, too, to feel welcome and relaxed in the place where I'm getting my tatts done. I also want to have some kind of a connection with the person tattooing me, we need to understand each other so that the result will be the best one possible.

    Tattoos!

Tattoos ARE addictive. I have some stars on my lower back, swallows on the sides of my middle fingers and a cherry blossom branch on my upper back/neck. I'm currently planning on my half-sleeve, the details are still a secret ( ), but it's going to have roses and lilies and some traditional-styled themes. I love the neo-traditional style of tattooing, two of my favourite artists of that genre here in Finland are Juha Lensu and Hexa. Hexa was the one who did these swallows of mine, lovely guy. About the pain, then. I'm really sensitive and if I got through it (and am going to go and get even more and more ink), I bet anyone can, haha. The most painful spots for me were the spine area on the lower back and the fingers, because they were inked twice as deep as the usually, to get the ink stay on properly. Difficult spot to tattoo... I'll post a picture of my cherry blossoms later when I'm on my own computer again.
  10. Yoghurt and water. Something light before going to bed :-)
  11. I've been still reading Kerouac's Lonesome traveler, just a few pages, though. Busy day! I also bumped into a book I didn't even remember I was in the middle of reading, it's an interesting book about the sociological aspect to rock'n'roll, essays by a bunch of people. Read a chapter of that one, too.
  12. I can read pretty much everywhere and in any situation. At least novels, non-fiction usually needs a bit calmer environment, at least if I want to really, really focus on the text. One of my favourite places to read is simply on my sofa, either sitting with my legs crossed or comfortably curled up. Some tea and maybe something little to eat... Purrrfect! I otherwise like reading in the bed, too, but I can't do it that often since I have troubles with sleeping anyway and reading a good book doesn't help falling asleep at all. I do that, too. It's my favourite time of the day, relaxing after the day at work, enjoying both the book and the garden and the summer... OH. Reading outdoors on a sunny day in the summer is lovely.
  13. Made some progress in Kerouac's Lonesome traveler. I also visited my favourite book store, they had some nice offers but I'm a bit too short on cash at this very moment... It was still a bit hard to leave that book about vintage shoes there, the only one I'm missing from my vintage this-and-that collection.
  14. Haha, I'm just SO SLOW at times :-D I bookmarked this place upon the first visit, but that's like the worst thing to do... My bookmarks tend to eat good pages (aka they're so full of stuff that they're basically useless). I'm indeed settling in, seems like a really nice place with a lot of discussion going on just about everything! Fab.

  15. Oh, they are cute indeed, but the ego... Spicy little creatures! Yay! ...and thanks again to all of you who have welcomed me. Sweet! And special thanks to the lovely Univerze, she was the one who pointed me to this place!
  16. I've read a couple of pages of Kerouac's Lonesome Traveler, going to read some more of it later tonight. I also made some progress in reading a book about music business, it's a Finnish book called Ruma b
  17. Hi Renate, it's me, Tina from the DS forum! Finally joined this board, too :-)

  18. Macaroni and sausage But hey, some salmon tomorrow, yum!
  19. Thank you! I'm already starting to like this place a lot :-)
  20. I was born and still live in Finland. I'd like to try and live somewhere else for a while, even though I like it here.
  21. Yes, I use my local library a lot. I get most of the books I read from the library. Besides the one that's closest to me, I occasionally pop at the library of my hometown.
