  1. Thanks so much Signor Athena, you really need to read it! It had me hooked from the first chapter. I will probably buy the next couple in the series when it gets to winter time which is when its perfect to snuggle up by the fire and read
  2. I've read most of the shopaholic series and I loved those books, I think I still have them poking around somewhere, they might be worth a re read, I have read a couple of her other books but I've got so many other books to read too!
  3. Ah perfect! I just finished reading Wedding Night. And let me tell you it was a lovely easy light hearted read, and I really enjoyed the whole book. I could kind of guess how it was going to end, but I like books that can be reliable and a little bit predictable with lots of drama and fun along the way. I would recommend it as a break between other books I.e. read it after a good crime thriller or a fantasy type book as it just provides a nice bit of girlie escapism.
  4. ah yes Wedding Night was a amazingly good read, just finished it this evening, really good and left me with that warm girlie glow inside, i love it when books do that, I would recommend it! It took me about 6 days to read it but only because I am so busy and can only read in my lunch hour or when i have some time after work. As for the dystopian esque teen book before that one it was called Gone by Michael Grant and I was considering whether to buy the next book in the series, but I have so many books to read that I want to read all those first! Thanks Julie, Guernsey is a lovely place to live, but as everywhere else it has its ups and downs!
  5. Thanks all Iam glad to be back, as for my current read I am reading Wedding Night by Sophie Kinsella. I needed a chick lit after reading a rather intense dystopian teen book O_o
  6. Hi all, I joined this forum 2 years ago and kind of didnt post for a very long time, but now I am getting back into my books and well I thought I should come back to this wonderful place where I really enjoyed being a part of a wider community to talk about my love for all things liteary. So yea, hi again I guess! Hopefully this time I won't disappear into obscurity this time! But since last time, I passed my driving test, broke up with my ex, and a year later am in a new relationship, I work full time but I would like a new job.
  7. Has been a very long time since I last posted on here, though I should come back!

  9. Finished Into The Darkest Corner today, was a crackingly good read! Finished it in three days! :) Hunger games was awesome too. Now time to relax before monday... :/

  10. is hoping to go see the hunger games this afternoon, if only my cousin would hurry up and let me know what time we were going!!

  11. Cannot put down Into the Darkest Corner, my mum read it in four days!

  12. I love harry potter, I grew up with it. But all the hype of the author is somewhat going to make me reluctant to buy it, I like her, but I don't think I could afford 20 pounds on a book. I could easily get several for 20 pounds from a charity shop. Anyway I think I might have to wait for it to come out on paperback, or borrow it from the library.
  13. I finished the first part of Eat, Pray, Love last night and have just started part two today. Really enjoying it so far, I'm not as into it as I would be with a work of fiction, but I did like the film so I thought I would read the book which is an interesting read.
  14. Oh wow that is awesome He isn't actually french however, he lives in his mums house which he is hoping to sell very soon so me and him can move to the UK. Going very slow though
  15. Welcome to the madhouse Lucille. My fiance lives in France actually he lives near a town call Dol De Bretagne. Don't know if youv'e heard of that area, anyway I live across the pond on Guernsey *waves*
  16. Yes the harry potter series does get better the more you get into it, and I agree, Daniel Radcliffe is definatley hot now hes older! I will have to find a copy of The Stand now to satisfy my curiosity, but I should read my library books first!
  17. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phonenix is by far my favourite harry potter book, I think the film did not give it much justice however, but it's mainly my favourite because it's the biggest of the harry potter books and I have fondest memories of queing up at midnight to buy it! I havent read much today, I sat in the lounge after having some dinner intending to get back into The End of Mr Y and instead have ended up drinking a bottle of wine and playing singstar with the family which was great fun Tomorrow is a chill out day so I'll probably do some more reading then! Pontaba- how was The Stand? It's one book I would like to read one day.
  18. I remember reading Of Mice and Men in english when I was about 15, I read The Grapes Of Wrath at the same time as well and my english teacher was really happy with me for that! I went to the library today and borrowed out some books which all look good, even a couple that were on the 1001 books to read before you die list, and made a reservation on one that I am keen to read. Decided to start by re reading a book I borrowed a few years ago called The End of Mr Y.
  19. Has got a huge TBR pile, better start now!

  20. Has got a huge TBR pile, better start now!

  21. Wow just found this, I'm going to have to go through it and work out what I've read and what I would like to read, but its soo long! *feels daunted*
  22. I find that with trilogies, if I like the sound of the first book and they are all published, then I'll buy the whole three books and read them all in one go. Then I take a looong break not reading much before I find something else to devour. The book I'm reading at the moment I started reading in December, and now its February, and I really want to finish it as I have my eye on a book I wish to re read, as I have yet to finish reading the sequel to that book. I also kind of read half a book then leave it and go and read something else. Is that weird? it's like I took a break from reading The Slap to read all of The Hunger Games books as I had heard that they were pretty good. (I loved them!) And then consequently had dreams about being in The Hunger Games, which was weird! Now I'm trying to desparately finish this book so I can move on to another book.
  23. I agree, I had cake today for the first time in what seems like ages!
  24. Totally getting into The Vampire Diaries, gives me a new show to watch whilst I wait for new glee and Pretty Little Liars episodes
