  1. I went yesterday to watch "The woman in black" (alone, with less than 6 peoples in the cinema, it was pretty scary xD). I liked it, but the end was disapointing (maybe because I watch it in Spanish and didn't understood one detail that explain it). Did the movie respect the book's story ?
  2. You're welcome, it was a good exercise x) And I'm actually reading a book (A discovery of Witch) who make me want to study old books, his library attract me even more now ><
  3. Yes it is, it's one volume of "Etymologiae" by Isidore of Seville And for the curious, here a more detailed translation : At first (from 0:30 to 0.50) to they are talking about is book : "The Prague cemetary" and how he's mixing reality and fiction. Around 0.55 the journalist ask : "Do you know exactly where are every books of your library" and Umberto Eco answer "Yes, yes I do" (I don't know how he does though xD. He have so many books) Then they talk about the expensive old book (Etymologie d'Isidore). Umberto said that the book is wonderfull because the paper is a very good quality, that it seems that it was print a few day ago and that it seems totally manuscript/handwritting (I don't know why he first said "print" then "manuscript" xD). Then he say he found it in Paris, and took three years to paid it. After, he's talking about another book which is "the world's most beautifull book" for the paper quality, the drawing inside...(Le songe de Polophile) And the book is very expensive because everybody want it. It was printed in Venise in the end of the 15 century (around 1499). After, when Umberto Eco is in his chair, they are talking about how many books he has (30 000 books in there, and 50 000 altogether). Then, about how false documents are use to make and falsify history and he give fiews exemples ("La Donation de constantin", "La lettre du prêtre Jean" The Priest Jean Letter's, The syrian report to Bush about nuclear weapon in Irak...). Some drive to good things (The Priest Jean Letter's), and others to bad things (The Syrian report). Then in the end, he is talking about his book : "The Prague Cemetary"
  4. I was talking about the books serie (can you only use "serie" for TV Show ?). And like you I prefer the books. And... I've just finished 11th books, and I loved it <3 I can't wait to read the next book of the series ! It's the last one isn't it ? EDIT : This is the summary for the 12th book :
  5. Well I've ordered the books (in french) just after I finished the first season of the TV Show. And though they are very differents, I love them both <3 (with a little preference for the books). I really enjoyed this serie, and I'm huge fan of Eric ♥o♥ and I can't stand Bill at all (in the TV show and the books). But like Kirsty_S, I've been less into the last ones of the séries, I found them less captivating than the first ones. My absolute favorites are the 4th, 5 and 6th of the serie (Dead to the World, Dead As a Dormail and Definitely Dead). I've just receive the last book published in French, Dead in the Family !! So I'm going to pretend to be ill and very contagious, lock myself in my room, and neither drink or eat until I've finished it *o* (Well maybe I wont do THAT much, but I'll will surely use every opportunity to go back reading xD)
  6. Oh yes I do ! I'm living about one hours away from there ! We are very close x)
  7. Where have you been in France ?
  8. Whoaaaa >< I wish I could live there *o* When the journalist ask him he said that he has 30 000 books in there, and 50 000 altogether !!!! But during 3/4 of the interview he is talking about old books. For exemple, the first book he show, the big one, was so expensive that it took him three year to paid it o_o. So I think most of his books are collection one, but still, this is a very nice library
  9. Yes I think she does <3
  10. Ok, you win me over. I'm going to read them in English o/ (Ok... Maybe I wanted to be be convinced )

    Your Age?

Lucky you, growing younger instead of older x)
@Ben : Thank you <3 (Maybe I should translate my French, but I'm feeling lazy to do so xD)
