  1. I've bookmarked Classic FM now, I'm getting old
  2. lol I was ok surprisingly, I slept soundly for 3 hours straight then got up feeling fine. I really enjoyed the game too, first time for quite a while I have sat through an entire NFL game, the american football thread helped hold my interest.

Work tomorrow (today) is going to be worse I think, I fell asleep at about 8pm and woke up a few hours ago, got a feeling i'm going to be wanting to sleep when it's time to get ready for work.

Did you have to get up? Or are these your regular hours ? :D

  3. I quite like this idea too, it can feel a bit weird sitting in silence at times. I shall be giving instrumental music a try.
  4. Asylum Street Spankers - The pussycat song
  5. I always look online for reviews of literally anything I am planning on buying, whehter it be books, a DVD or an Iron More often or not it's Amazon I go to, but I have been known to google something I am planning on buying and reading every single review I can find of it, I'm just weird like that; and believe me you end up reading the same review quite a few times.
  6. The Jacks are gong up! The Jacks are going up! And now you're gonna believe us and now you're gonna believe us, and now you're gonna believe us! The Jacks are going up! Bring it on Newcastle we are waiting for you:mrgreen:
  7. Newcastle are actually playing my team Swansea this coming weekend in Swansea, it's live on Sky as well. Should be an interesting game:lurker: Newcastle scare me, two of their players are worth more than Swansea's stadium! Edit: 3-0 lol
  8. I don't think Newcastle have much to worry about, they will be in the premier league next season. If they aren't I will eat my copy of The Stand, page by page:mrgreen:
  9. We played PNE last Saturday, they were absolutely awful. Literally did not get one shot on target all game! I see they are beating you at the moment, oh dear:tong:
  10. My team winning! Come on you swans!
  11. I'm in Swansea, us Welsh should stick together on here
  12. Quite a wait for it yet then Search for that Britney video it will make yoiur day
  13. Talking of Britney Spears, have you seen the video on youtube of her 'singing' live? Not sure if I am allowed to put it on here, it shows her live on stage, singing into her mic as shes dancing around on stage and what you hear is her actually singing. What the audience hear is a totally different thing. She sounds like she's in the bath singing When does the proper BB start?
  14. As of this moment First among sequels is the 5th and final book in the Thursday Next series. The other series Fforde has done is called 'Nursery Crime' that currently has 2 books, the 1st book is The big over easy and the 2nd is The Fourth Bear. His latest is Shades of grey that was released in January, and is not connected to either.
  15. Doritos and a can of fosters. The joys of being a bachelor.
  16. The Eyre Affair is quite an easy, enjoyable read, I am by no means a prolific reader and I got through it in a weekend. If you are familiar with the classics that are referenced throughout you will enjoy it more than I did, the in-jokes really meant nothing to me. You might spend most of the book wondering if he gave the book the wrong name though, (you will know what I mean when you read it) I am just over 100 pages now into Lost in a good book and it's great!
  17. I got about 50 pages into 'Lost in a Good Book' last night and have been looking forward to getting home today to read more, it's much much better than the eyre affair in my opinion, so far anyway.
  18. Thanks for the recommendations, I shall add them to my ever-growing list it's starting to scare me
  19. Just googled these books Moz and they seem just the kind that I would love to read one day, something a bit different and not really mainstream (though I could be wrong). Finding little gems that aren't necessarily earmarked for film adaptation is part of the reason that I have come to love reading. I also don't think there is a wrong or a right way to write about a book, just say how you feel!
  20. Noomi Rapace is brilliant as Lisbeth in the films, perfect for the role. I am just dreading the day that Hollywood get their hands on it, and cast Jennifer Aniston or someone equally as talentless, as her.
  21. I often think this to myself, the diverse range of literature available is fantastic, makes me wonder why more people don't read for pleasure.
  22. It's exactly the same where I live, it seems judging by some on this thread though that some local authorities neglect their libraries which is a shame. Especially during a time where they should be encouraging people to make use of facilities such as libraries.
  23. Did anybody watch the first of this series on Ch 4 last Monday? The 2nd is on at 9pm tonight. Basically it's a documentary where an MP from each of the main political parties spends time living with someone that lives in a council tower block, under the same conditions as that person, to monitor how they will cope. Oddly enough the Labour MP came off worst last week, totally refusing to live with someone and demanding his own flat, and generally coming across as quite snobby, whereas the Conservative and Liberal Democrat MP's came off quite well and mixed quite well with the 'commmon folk'. Going by the spoilers for tonight the Labour MP and his wife dig themselves an even deeper hole in tonights show.....
