First posting and a big hello from Bristol....I just thought I would mention this book as I am reading at the moment..
I am half way through this rather bleak and disturbing book. Youn Steven spends his time digging holes on Exmoor trying to discover the body of his Uncle..until he decides that is to write to the killer Arnold Avery for information as to the whereabouts of the body!! This is the core of the book the relationship between Steven and Avery....who is attempting manipulate him in every way he can. I am now at the half way stage, it is a very easy read and I should finish the book today, there is a lovely macabre and desolate atmosphere set against the Moors. A great first novel by an upcoming author and I thoroughly recommend
