  1. I read this back in 2004 and remember being captivated by the storyline - such a good premise! The film was awful though, and it's a shame they couldn't stick to the original location of the book. I re-read PS I Love You last year and wasn't as fond as I was before, perhaps due to the film ruining it slightly, or because I had read it before. I'd give it a 6.5/10.
  2. Definitely a born reader - thanks to my Mum who read to me at a very early age; when I was at school I was ahead 3 years of my class reading wise, and ended up reading Yr 6 books when I was Yr 2! When I was at secondary school I never remember buying books but I certainly remember spending most of my lunch breaks in the library, and then when I was old enough to have my own library account I got one and spent hours just looking through books. I think I tailed off reading as much as I did when I was trying to do my A Levels as I had too much academia to read, but when my illness got worse I would hole up in my room and read read read!
  3. I saw Flight 93 the other day, and then Russell Howard's DVD a couple of nights ago.
  4. Incinerate - Sonic Youth
  5. 1) Jane Eyre - Charlotte Bronte 2) Of Mice and Men - John Steinbeck 3) The Post-Birthday World - Lionel Shriver (update this later, I need to have a good think!)
  6. I think one day I spent about four hours in Waterstones - I wasn't buying anything, but making a list of things I wanted to buy! Usually I am fairly swift if I'm going to the big stores, but if it's an independent bookstore or secondhand/charity shop, I can spend up to an hour!
  7. Hello everybody! I was looking for a book club forum and I found you on google, and am very pleased to be a member My name is Rebecca, I'm 25 and I come from Norfolk. I am a very keen reader; always have been thanks to my Mum reading to me at a very early age! I'm not sure who my favourite author is - my favourite book is Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte but I read so much that I can never make my mind up who I like best! I also do a bit of writing but it's not very good. Look forward to talking to you all, books or otherwise!
