  1. loooll ! I'm sorry ^^ I know many people loved it but honestly I found it really boring !

No, that is your opinion and I respect it!

I have tried to read Pride and Prejudice countless times but just don't get it! Whereas it seems to get great reviews on the forum.

I guess that is what makes us all interesting, the fact that we like different things!:D

  2. Don't know what is wrong with me at minute, I seem to have lost my mojo!

Have just started to read the eyre affair without finishing the elegance of the hedgehog. I just could not seem to get into it. Will hopefully try again at a later date!:D

  3. It was the one with Ralph Fiennes and Juliette Binoche !

In fact I wanted to read it but as my friend lent me her DVD, I couldn't resist ^^

And I started to fall asleep because the story wasn't lively, I was really disappointed because I had heard many good things about it.

Maybe I should have read the book before watching the film ^^

That is a shame, cos I liked that version!

I did read the book first though, so not sure if this made a difference.

Synopsis: While in Paris on business, Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon receives an urgent late-night phone call: the elderly curator of the Louvre has been murdered inside the museum. Near the body, police have found a baffling cipher. While working to solve the enigmatic riddle, Langdon is stunned to discover it leads to a trail of clues hidden in the works of Da Vinci -- clues visible for all to see -- yet ingeniously disguised by the painter.Langdon joins forces with a gifted French cryptologist, Sophie Neveu, and learns the late curator was involved in the Priory of Sion -- an actual secret society whose members included Sir Isaac Newton, Botticelli, Victor Hugo, and Da Vinci, among others.

In a breathless race through Paris, London, and beyond, Langdon and Neveu match wits with a faceless powerbroker who seems to anticipate their every move. Unless Langdon and Neveu can decipher the labyrinthine puzzle in time, the Priory's ancient secret -- and an explosive historical truth...

Review: This is a book that never slows down and therefor it's hard to actually put it down. You want to know the truth as badly as the main characters does.

It's intense, it's though provoking and it makes you question things and made me at least very interested to read more about Da Vinci himself.

It's not the best book ever written, it's not going to hang around in the back of my head for years and years. But it was fun while it lasted.

You should also try Angels and Demons. I actually preferred it to the Da Vinci Code.

  5. Oops it is nearly July and I have not done very well in my classics list!

Must try harder! My dad actually has my Sherlock Holmes books at minute and seems to be enjoying them. What puts me off is the fact that they are short stories!

  6. The Elegance of the Hedgehog - Muriel Barbery

Ship of Dreams - Martina Devlin

    Small Island - Andrea Levy

The Other Woman - Jane Green

The Book of Tomorrow - Cecilia Ahern

    Mercy - Jodi Picoult

The Tenth Circle - Jodi Picoult

    Bold - Books read!

Not sure if I am going to read the two Jodi Picoult books, as they don't really appeal to me which is strange cos I loved all of her other books!

  7. Dear Cecelia Ahern,

After reading your latest offering, the book of tomorrow, could I please urge you to put down your pen and pack up your laptop!

I was a big fan until The Gift and I did reluctantly add your latest offering to my christmas list. I feel that you have some good ideas but feel it is a waste of my sister's hard earned cash when she considers buying me another one of your books for christmas!

Big praise for P.S. I love you though!

P.S. Quit while you are ahead!

  8. In answer to your question mtjm, I loved the Harry Bosch books up until the last couple and I am ashamed to say that I did not even get 1/2 way through Nine Dragons, the latest book.

I feel that Michael Connolly should have rounded Harry Bosch off around the time of The Closers! You can get too much of a good thing!

In saying that I read the books in order and it made it more enjoyable for me cos although the crimes/cases are different, it does help with Harry's personal life!
