  1. Favourite live band/artist?

Guess it's a tie between Deathstars, they're so entertaining onstage, really amazing, and Kamelot, since they're brilliant. They sound fantastic live, and the voice of Roy, wow... power.

Band/artist you've seen live the most times?

    Deathstars

Band/artist you've not yet seen live but would love to?

DragonForce, the music's so powerful and amazing, would love to see that energy on stage. Also, Psyclon Nine.. their music can sounds so deliciously evil, and honestly, Nero is just gorgeous. Placebo, if they weren't so bloody popular that it meant packed venues.

Band/artist you never had the chance to see?

Old Nightwish, with Tarja. Annette's nice as singer, but it's just not the same. Also Dope Stars Inc before the line-up change. With Grace.

    Worst live band/artist?

Pff, I don't know. Not by name anyway.. must be one of the many support bands I have seen over the years. Either that one before one of the Epica gigs I've seen, or the one before one of the Deathstars gigs, a "band" consisting of one guy screaming along to a background tape (no live instruments) and two crappy female dancers. That guy really was trying too hard. :)

  2. Honestly, I am not very interested to see this. I love Johnny Depp, I love Tim Burton.. but honestly, it's sort of overkill that these guys keep working together. Plus, Tim Burton seems to keep using his wife in all his films.. she's good, but again, enough is enough. I didn't like Sweeney Todd to be honest. It looked great, but that's about it.

And I loved the book, and the cartoons of Alice in Wonderland, but I am worried what this film's gonna be like. I don't really like the pictures I've seen so far..

I do love the rest of the cast, Stephen Fry, Alan Rickman, Anne Hathaway, Crispin Glover.. so might be alright after all. We'll see.

Edit: didn't know about Avril doing the song for this, I don't like her music much.. she's gorgeous, absolutely, but her music, I don't like.

  3. I love oriental food, chinese, indian and such. Spicy food is gooooood. Particularly with noodles.

    Steak. Very rare please.

Tagliatelle with creamsauce and ham... yum.

Lasagne.. the way my ex made it.. :) Then again I could probably make it myself too, but I'm too lazy so far.

Big salad with either grilled chicken or tuna.. oh yeah.

There's lots of food I like. Too much.

  4. Hellboy II: The Golden Army

Pretty much by-the-numbers plot wise, and you could see the end coming a mile off, but no less enjoyable for that. Very intersting look and feel from Del Toro as well.

Loved the look of this, The Angel of Death was just as impressive as the Pale Man in Pan's Labyrinth.. and am I the only one to think Prince Nuada was hot? :D:D

  5. Finished The White Dragon (Anne McCaffrey) yesterday evening. That makes four books this month. Now, on to the next one, will decide later which one, either Swallowing Darkness by Laurell Hamilton (I cringe everytime I hear the title, her Merry Gentry books alwasy sound like they are a pun (have a pun? how do you use this expression hee hee), intentional or not) or Eye of the World, by Robert Jordan. However, since the last three books I read were more fantasy, might be nice to read more the urban fantasy thing, meaning Laurell Hamilton. Also, easy read those books.

  6. Well, I haven't ever listened to an audio book, so I guess I can't really judge.. however I used to think (before I joined any book forums) that audio books were just for people who couldn't read well enough to manage reading a book, or make it relaxing etc if you know what I mean. I was stunned to see so many book lovers also listening to audio books. Can't imagine it myself, I'd rather read a book any day, I'll listen to music if I want to listen to something.. Just seems weird to have someone read it to you.. I tend to get annoyed at people's voices soon too... plus an audio book is generally expensive. So I'll stick to reading myself.. but I can't say that I'll never like audio books.. since I have never tried.

  7. I must be confused with another forum, cause I could have sworn there already was a topic like this. :D

Anyway, I am an astronomy geek, and was looking for a username for some other forum, Universe was already taken, plus I thought it was too general, so I changed the S to Z, and tadaaaaa. Have been Univerze everywhere since.. apart from silly LibraryThing where someone had already snagged that name. :D

  8. Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind,

    The Matrix Trilogy, K-Pax

Oh now I love these too, Matrix, don't know why I didn't put it in my list, cause I enjoy watching them. And I adore K-Pax, great film, and I love Kevin Spacey.. great actor.

There's just one genre (pretty much) that I don't do.. even though I am a girl. I hate romantic comedies. Gag me with a spoon please. Yuck. Rather watch a good sci-fi or horror anyday. :D

  9. My thoughts on Indy are forever sullied by the (hopefully) final instalment of the franchise. Can't Georgie leave his characters well enough alone? I had a hard enough time with the three abominations that passed for Star Wars prequels... [insert long rant here]

See I am lucky then. I love Indiana Jones, but have never seen the Crystal Skull. Didn't feel like it, and afterwards heard it's bad. So no for me.

I watched The Omen yesterday evening. The 70's original, not the horrible remake.. don't care for Julia Stiles anyway. Plus, a remake should be superior to the original, especially if you won't change a lot.. and the 70's film is just so much better.:welcome:

  10. I absolutely love Nandos :)

Only been there once, since we don't have that in Holland (ofcourse) but I loved it. I like chicken and spicy food, so that works out well. It's perfect for when you want to eat out, but do nothing fancy. I mean, it sorta felt like McDonalds, only different. :welcome:

Here in Holland we have this chain of restaurants called Humpfrey's, they have a three course dinner for 22,50 (euros), so that's nice for when you want to do something a little fancier (before you laugh, I am not very rich hee hee, so when one dinner comes down to about 35 euros, that's fancy enough for me). They change their menu every once in a while (used to be every month) and reading through it still makes me get hungry..

Yummm. :) By far one of my fav restaurants here.

  11. Well I don't live in the UK so we don't have the same book stores here, in fact there's only one decent book store in my city, and it doesn't have much as far as books that I like, plus the English section is quite small, they tend to have just dutch books. So I order online.

But when I go to visit a friend that lives in Southampton, he always takes me to Waterstones, and I LOVE it there. Feel way more at home there than I have in any Dutch bookstore. So Waterstones it is.

He always goes into Forbidden Planet too, and they have a nice discount book section there, not big, but gotten some lovely books there for just a few pounds each.:)

  12. I lost my mojo (somehow when I hear this word I always have to think of Austin Powers:tong:) for about the last year.. my dad was very ill with terminal cancer, and worries and being busy completely destroyed my mojo to read even the simplest things. Only picked up reading again after he passed away, and even then after several tries.. what works for me is, not so much trying a new book, but re-reading something I read in the past, but can barely remember. For me, it meant the Dragonriders of Pern series.

But I agree on the short stories, if you can't be bothered to read a book, stories do the trick, and if you don't like the story, it's easy to switch.

Also, try researching books on the internet.. wikipedia, or several book sites, I always browse the site of the online shop I order books at. For some reason that can get me so excited to read again, to see all the great books out there waiting to be read.

If that doesn't help, try switching to a completely different kind of book. Usually does the trick for my mojo. :)

  13. Born reader, have had a library subscription since I was old enough for it, which means 4 years old. :D We went every few weeks, and I always took, and finished, the maximum amount of books, which was 8 at the time.

In junior school I too was always ahead of the rest of the students with reading, when they read school books, the teachers always asked me to bring my own books so I could read by myself. :)

Think I got it from mom, she was always reading when I was younger, these days not so much anymore, but then there wasn't a day going by without seeing her with a book, basically what I do now. :)

  14. Cell, Stephen King

I could not even finish it but it played on my mind for months.

I had to give it to my sister in the end cos I did not even want it in the house.

Really? I read it partially, couldn't finish it, was kind of bored with it. How much can you read about people bashing in other people's heads really? I got annoyed with the chaos. Though I read the wikipedia article on it, and think I might have quit too soon.. still not too fascinated with the whole book though. Only picked it up in the first place cause it was apocalyptic. But it wasn't that disturbing, the bit I read at least.

  15. Oh dear. I have many, many favourites.. and which are my most favourite depends on the mood I am in, but let me give you the list I always list when people ask me about my fav films. I warn you, there's many.

Boondock Saints, Alien 1-3, The Last Mimzy, What Dreams May Come, From Hell, Harry Potter series, Lord of the Rings trilogy, Jane Eyre (2006), Perfume: The story of a Murderer, The Langoliers, Hornblower, Master and Commander, Stardust, Ginger Snaps 1-3, Memoirs of a Geisha, Moulin Rouge, Mirror Mask, Interview with the Vampire, Neverending Story, Legend, Slither, The Omen series, Hellraiser series, Mists of Avalon, Dracula, Serenity, The Stand, Dune, Children of Dune, Dogma, The Seventh Sign, Like Minds, The Exorcist, Pitch Black, Hellboy, Hellboy 2: The Golden Army, Edward Scissorhands, Sleepy Hollow, Neverwas, Underworld (1&2), Donnie Darko, The Prophecy 1-3, Alien vs Predator 2: Requiem, Dead Poet Society.

And yes, I too, am a Dogma fan. :D

  16. Preferably it's quiet, however, if I have to choose between sitting on my room alone quiet, or sitting downstairs with the family where it's not so quiet, I'll still do the latter. On the sofa, because in bed I never sit comfortable for long, and seriously, reading while laying down, nu-uh. Hate it.

I read all day if I can, but often just in the evening, cause that's when I have the time for it. Unfortunately that means sometimes I am too tired for it, sometimes my eyes just don't want to make sense of the words or I notice I have been reading the same bit over and over.

Tea, or coffee with my book please. No food, am distracted while reading, and don't want food residue in my book. :D

  17. 27 for me. Sigh.

Haha, I've felt like that ever since I turned like 23 or something. Wonder how I'll feel when I hit 30. :D Just two more years.. but now people still think me younger than my younger brother, he's 25.
