  1. Yes, i'm enjoying the book and i agree it's the right book for me to read at this time. What a good stroke of luck and a great way to get back into reading books Also, left to my own devices i wouldn't dream of reading a novel like this. I've been taken outside of my comfort zone. As for discussing the book BJ, i might toss in the occasional sentence here and there . I'm not a very good debater, and you guys appear to be seasoned pros .
  2. Just read another 20 pages of Fahrenheit 451. Not sure why, but i got a little choked up reading a passage while on the bus today . Had to compose myself to stop the tears from falling.
  3. Love Maltesers but the ads are pretty annoying .
  4. Mmm, nothing better to tuck into when it cold outside . Had pasta carbonara tonight.
  5. Hmm, i'd like to see the US version of Life on Mars, i'm intrigued as to how they ended the show. Shame you didn't think it was any good. Apparently, the US version of AB Fab was deeply unfunny. They took out all the good bits which made the UK original great ie. swearing, sl*pper behaviour and drug-taking and served up what was left . I can't think of any remake i've seen that i've enjoyed to be honest.
  6. I look forward to building a book-list. I currently have 2 books on my list . Read 50 pages of Fahrenheit 451 today. Sweet .
  7. Hey there, thanks for adding me as a 'friend' :). If only things happened this easily in real-life .

Just to mention the 'Mighty Spurs' again, it looks like 'Arry just gave the lads a talking to and fined them after their Xmas bash. HR isn't daft, and he wouldn't want to upset them too much by scolding them like they were kids - that'd be a sure way to upset the dressing-room. Look at how upset Darren Bent got when Harry said his missus could have scored an easy goal that Bent missed.

On Boxing Day we face Fulham, hope we can get something from that. They can't be that difficult to beat, surely? Oh, hang on....:tong:;).

Anyway, have a good day :)

  8. Bought this one on Amazon last night for less than
  9. Absolutely, i will Maureen . Had a look at Phillipa Gregory's official website. Very classy, i must say . I'll be reading them in order, so i'll kick-off with 'The Constant Princess'. She's written many 'Tudor' books among others. How many of these have you read?
  10. True, i can't think of any good US remakes. I managed about 15 minutes of the US version of The Office before giving up. Mind you i imagine there are many Brit versions of US shows that could be described as being pretty bad. Remember years ago ITV attempted to remake the classic American sitcom, 'The Golden Girls'. I'd guess all those involved in the shambles have only just recovered from the embarrassment .
  11. Blinkin 'eck, i'm watching Charlie Brooker again! Oh well, you can never have too much Charlie Brooker in your life
  12. - you're probably right. Just did a quick google and the US pilot was filmed way back in 1992. Holly the computer was played by Jane Leeves the British actress in Fraiser! And the actor cast to play Lister was a bit too handsome with a designer stubble *tuts*. Apparently, Chris Barrie was loathed to do it as he was unhappy with the tv contract. Sounds like it was a troubled venture from the get go .
  13. My understanding is it was with US actors (unknowns) but the English actor who played Kryten kept the same role. Not sure when it was filmed, possibly in the late 90's- early 2000's???.
  14. That's funny because when i see the Red Dwarf actors in anything else i immediately think of their Red Dwarf characters. They'll always be typecast as the 'Boys from the Dwarf' for me . Brittas Empire was blooming funny, it should get a repeat on 'Dave' . Apparently a US pilot was made of Red Dwarf, but it didn't take off. Don't think it's ever been shown in the UK. Would love to see it.
  15. Michael Jackson : The Dangerous Tour. Love MJ but i can't get that 'Bo Selecta' version of him out of my head when i hear his records. 'Cha’Mone! Mo’Fo’Selecta! - A tribute to Michael Jackson' was one of the funniest things i've seen all year. 'Cola Cubays in the background' as the lyrics to 'Don't stop till you get enough' will stay with me forever .
  16. Just changed tv channel - watching Charlie Brooker's Screenwipe Review of 2009
  17. Agreed . The early series were cheap-looking but cheerfully funny. But the later series i thought, were impressive looking but the charm had gone from the show. Last dvd i watched was Sleuth starring Jude Law and Micheal Caine
  18. It was a pleasure to burn. Fahrenheit 451 - Ray Bradbury.
  19. Read Fahrenheit 451 on the bus to and from work. Read the author's introduction and the first 24 pages of the novel. Will read a few more pages before bed .
  20. Had a book delivered today, so i'll be using the included invoice as a bookmark .
  21. My copy of Fahrenheit 451 arrived today . Will start reading it this evening .
  22. Not big on reality tv anymore, used to love them a few years back. But this year it was my absolute pleasure to stumbled across 'Rock of Love' with Bret Michaels. Nothing funnier than watching drunken sl*ppers fighting .
