It's the equivalent of going to see someone in concert and them showing you videos of other singers that you wouldn't want to see if your life depended.
I remember seeing the trailer for 'Confessions of a Shopaholic' ..
Isn't that a bit like the support acts though?
you do see some trailers for some awful looking films! I saw one for a new Jennifer Lopez film the other night and me and OH were constantly pulling these faces at one another throughout it But similarly, you may discover a film you fancy seeing but wouldn't have otherwise known about..
More annoying cinema behaviour - texting. The girl in front of me was constantly texting and the light from her phone was glaring and very distracting

Finished Jamaica Inn today but now I'm really struggling to decide what to read next

I think you might like it if you try watching it again one day! Are you usually a Fincher fan? I just like the way he films things and his attention to detail is excellent. If you decide you want to watch it, you'll probably be glad to know that only one death is by stabbing and the rest is by bullet. The fact that it's a true story too was just really interesting to me.
Yeah I love Seven and Fight Club and if I recall correctly, I was enjoying Zodiac before that scene. Ah I can handle death by bullet, I might just be ok then! Cheers, peace. I'll let you know my thoughts if/when I see it again.
I'd forgotten about that. You just made my tummy flip!Sorry, I wish I hadn't remembered it. It puts my teeth all on edge!

The plan was simple, like my brother-in-law Phil. But unlike Phil, this plan just might work. -Malcolm Fleschner, Arlington

Nothing at the moment but at lunchtime I am definitely hunting down a jam doughnut. And then eating it.

Yeah, I really think there should be a rule about it so that latecomers are denied entrance! You wouldn't get away with it in a theatre so a cinema should be no different. I missed several moments of the film last night as people were still arriving about twenty minutes in! Coupled with the fact that I don't know how people can be content to watch a film that they've missed the beginning of.

People arriving late to the cinema and coming in disrupting everyone else after the film has started. If you can't turn up on time, don't bother coming!

I really liked it, poppyshake No disappointment here, it's a thoroughly enjoyable drama with a good dose of humour as well. The boys done good
Peacefield, do try and catch it when/if you can! I think you might just like it .

Small Island is being shown on BBC4 tonight at nine. Hopefully I'll be watching this if I can stay awake for the duration, I'm sleeeepy this evening

I signed up to Goodreads this afternoon My username is Mexicola. I've joined the BCF group and will send out some friend requests.
Still have lots of work to do on there, including deciding on the best way of organising my shelves...

Read about 70 more pages of Jamaica Inn. I'm enjoying it but not quite as much as I did My Cousin Rachel.

I didn't read the first post but just jumped to this last page wondering if I'd find any other users from Basingstoke.
At first I thought people had much more exciting lives than me until it finally dawned on me
Nollaig's post especially must have had you confused

My OH mentioned he'd be interesting in reading this Fortey book the other day, and now having read about it on here I think it's almost definitely being ordered from Amazon I like the sound of his others too, chesil.

Zodiac is one of my favorite films, Mexicola, and I've seen it numerous times, but I'm not a fan of the violence in it. The stabbing scene being the worst, so I agree with you about that. The other scenes I just close my eyes, but I know where you're coming from .
It's a shame I didn't get to finish it, if it's one of your faves - I'm almost bound to love it too Maybe I'll be brave and give it another go one day, just as long as I have a cushion at the ready I might be ok
Then there's that scene in American History X involving someone's mouth and the curb that evokes a definite 'ouch!' from me.
What really bugs you?
