  1. I craft a lot - scrapbooking and card making. It is very addictive but I have always kind of been a closet scrapbooker even when I was younger. In my old photoalbums, I always found the need to add something to the pages, like left over coins from the holidays, or ticket stubbs and write some sentences underneath the picture. That is pretty much what Scrapboopking is all about - being a little creative with pictures. When I don't read (or hang about the net) you can find me crafting Lexie has given you good tips already about UK scrappers and Sarah's cards is one of the shops I buy from too, once in a while
  2. I love seeing all your book shelves and you organise your stuff. I am quite weird because I don't keep books after I read them (only the ones of John Grisham and Charlaine Harros stay with me). Only the ones that I know I will re-read stay, the rest goes to charity. at the moment I think I only have about 20 odd books on my shelf
  3. Yup, I have walked out once and I see no problem with that. I don't care if I paid for the movie or not, if I cannot bear it anymore I go. Why would I force myself to stay bored or annoyed and just wishing for the darn thing to end? I walked out of the first Lord of the Rings - whilst I love the books the first movie just bored me to tears. It was the first night of the release and I went through tons of trouble to get two tickets for us. When it started we were like "holy cow..is anyone but us deaf?" The loudness was unbearable, I sat there most of the time with my hands over my ears (and trust me, all those years in the front row of Heave Metal concerts ensured that I can take it VERY loud). It didn't seem to bother anyone else but us, so I didn't see a reason to complain to the cinema about it. Anyways once we got over our eardrums being close to popping we could not find anything gripping about he movie. It just takes forever to get the the point...yeah, I get why because not everyone may have read the books but still - I was bored because I knew the books and my boyfriend was bored because he found it too long winding. So we left and got to the pub instead - now that we loved Then there were two nearly walk-outs: The first one being The Blair Witch Project - I still shake my head about the fact that we fell for the hype of it...nothing happened and the only scary thing throughput was her nose dripping with snot in a full frontal...yuk. The only reason we didn't walk was that we thought something must happen at some stage. Ya, that so didn't happen. The other near walk-out was Twilight. Holy Cow, that must have been the worst movie in history (even worse than Blair Witch). When the books first came out I thought they were kinda cute - but since then I have grown up (sort of). Anyway, I didn't really wanna go and see it because I didn't think I would enjoy it but my boyfriend urged me. "But you love vampire stuff!" So I caved in - BIG mistake. It took boring to a new level, but the giggling teenage girls liked it, so my problem really. That should teach an old gal to go watch a Teenie movie

  5. I order mainly from Play.com and Amazon. But I also tend to find real bargains at my local Asda. Gotta love being able to pick up a brand new paperback for
  6. I should really stop reading this thread as I am getting SO darn jealous that you all can watch True Blood. I don't have FX so i have to wait until Channel 4 get their finger out.... But I have been watching forever all the clips on youtube...
  7. Apart from the odd movie here and there I really dislike modern movies (gawd I sound like the old boring fart I am...) All this CGI overload is doing my head in - so I prefer to re watch some old classics. I never get tired of them. That said, my Top 10 do include some CGI enhanced movies - they are not all bad Arsenic And Old Lace Gone With The Wind We Are No Angels The Big Lebowski Kelly's Heroes The Great Escape Reservoir Dogs The Fantastic Four (all of them) Spiderman II Dances With Wolves There are many other movies I enjoy watching but not as often as those
  8. Interesting to see how diverse the lists are. Here is mine Def Leppard AC/DC Led Zeppelin Abba Nickelback

    Hi there

Good evening everyone I am so delighted to have found this forum - it will certainly help me find out about new authors (well, new for me that it) Being born and bred in Germany, I moved to England in 1999 and since 2000 I call the Isle of Wight my home. I have always loved reading and as I have quite an extensive travel time each day to and from work (1 hour ferry ride each way), books are so important to me. I am a fan of Agatha Christie, John Grisham, John Patterson, Charlaine Harris and recently added Illona Andrews, MaryJanice Davidson and Kim Harrisson to the list. As you can see, it has to be crime and mystery for me. Right now I am trying to find new books to read to shorten the time until May 2010 when the new Sookie Stockhouse hits the shelves. So, if you have any suggestions - I'd be grateful
