  1. Hey Erin, welcome to BCF! Hope you're liking things so far.
  2. It seems as if I finally got my reading mojo back a little bit. Read two chapters of Burned and am hoping to get a little more in before bed tonight Great book so far, but not my favorite in the series, TBH.
  3. Cancer- My Chemical Romance
  4. Closer- Kings of Leon
  5. It was a good match, definitely a nail biter! :) I'm glad it was too, it was probably the most anticipated match of the event (well, except for the final, of course)!

I've been feeling good lately, just resting and trying to stay out of too much trouble. How have you been doing?

    Sleep well xoxo

  6. I'm happy with how the US played today. They kept up with England and showed that we are competition. Maybe we won't be winning this World Cup, but look out for the US team in the future.
  7. I thought Rooney was striker. Either way, Heskey is doing a good job of getting in there and stirring things up. I think the big difference between the US team and the English team is that the English play more offensively where as the US plays more defensive. England isn't afraid to rush or tackle, IMO.
  8. I can sort of see why they would want him, he's intimidating and aggressive. I wouldn't want to be up against him, players like that are there for mind games more so than goals.
  9. That was back when he collided with Howard. Just sort of surprised me at how aggressive it seemed. Who does he play for regularly?
  10. Rooney's a beast, Vanwa. If there is anything I've learned from watching the Premier League games its that the Brits are fierce competitors. They do not like to lose. That is a very excellent point, JCW. The guy who scored the US goal, Clint Dempsey, plays for Fulham. Landon Donovan, the greatest US player of our generation was on loan for Everton. It seems like all of our best guys have experince as teammates for your guys. The MLS in the US is definitely not as good as the European leagues, but our team has experience all over.
  11. First off, this game is not going well for the US so far. Hopefully our boys can step it up. Secondly, what is with this Heskey guy?!?!?!
  12. 5 Books based on Glee are going to be released beginning in August! What do you guys think of this? Would you read the books?
  13. That's a great compliment, JCW! Actually, a liquid diet isn't all that bad. The one I'm doing is very a very loose one. Basically what I'm doing is a Slim Fast shake (190 calories) for breakfast, prune juice, cranberry juice, vegetable juice and water throughout the day and a bowl of tomato basil soup (200 calories) for supper. The total calorie intake will be roughly 1000 cal/day and the prune and cranberry juice will help (hopefully) flush out the junk from my body. After a week of this I'll add meat, eggs and solid veggies back in. Are you hypoglycemic, frankie?
  14. BCF is like having an accountablility partner for me. It's really amazing to have a place to go to not only get reccommendations but to also discuss and explore literature and to encourage each other in our reading endeavors. Before coming here I was the person who, if caught reading in public would hide the title because I didn't want anyone to judge me for my taste in books. BCF has helped me shed that little insecurity as well as helped me to push my reading comfort zone in terms of difficulty to a new level. Last year at this time I never would have picked up books like The Polysyllabic Spree by Nick Hornby or The Divine Comedy by Dante, to be honest because I prefer fantasy and romance. Now when I finish a book the first thing I think about is getting on BCF
  15. Oh no! I hope you feel better soon, frankie! I am waiting until tomorrow to start my detox liquid diet because the roommates want to go out tonight and its been so long since we've all gone out together. In the last 2 weeks I haven't lost or gained a single ounce, which is okay considering I've been eating so much junk. Do you guys get The Biggest Loser over the pond? I picked up the Boot Camp workout DVD put out by the show's trainers. Its really intense, I could barely get through the warm-up! I like it so far though.
  16. I'm not even going to dare to share my most embarrassing moment so I'll go with the second most. When I was a teen I did a lot of rollerskating at a local rink called Skate Away. One night I was going to show off by kneeling on one skate with the other leg straight out in front of me. The pants I was wearing were really old and tight so when I knelt down they split down the back of my thigh from knee to waist, exposing my skin and my panties. I was mortified because it happened while out on the floor so everyone saw it! Being the stubborn creature I am I refused to call my mom to come get me (she would have mocked me forever!) and stayed with my friends. My wonderful boyfriend at the time found a pile of bumper stickers and put them all over my bum and thigh and then put some on his clothes and our other friend's clothes. It was a lot less mortifying having them all looking like a dork with me.
  17. I'll have to keep my eye on him. They have a little profile on the FIFA website, he sounds promising!
  18. I didn't know that! Which player is it?
  19. Sports Nation World Cup Edition
  20. I'll be remaining loyal to the US guys. This is the sort of event that could really bring soccer out into the open as a professional sport here (it's been one for years but doesn't have a HUGE following). Hopefully the guys will do well so we can not only get more of a following for the sport here but also so the world will start taking us more seriously.
  21. Hey hun! That's too bad :( Hopefully somday it'll work. :)

  22. Texas Chainsaw Massacre
  23. I've been having a bit of a True Blood season 2 marathon today
  24. Sounds like everyone is doing well lately I've been eating terribly the last week so starting this weekend I'm going on a liquid diet to flush out the junk from my system so I can start focusing on feeling better instead of just losing weight. I plan on just doing water, protein shake and vegetable juice for the next week and then starting a meat/veggies/fruits only diet. Nothing processed and no bread. Hopefully I can stick to it!
