  1. We had rice and gravy weekly on our lunch menu at school. Don't knock it before you try it!
  2. Thanks for the link! Can't wait until the book is released!!
  3. Isn't that his happy face?
  4. 1. I also learned what a mycologist is today (thank you Google!) 2. I hate lettuce so all of my salads and sandwiches are made with spinach. 3. I know a ton of usless facts about bridges, asphalt and water plants because of my dad's job. 4. I am scared of bridges. 5. I hate the taste of bottled water.
  5. Eggs over easy on toast.
  6. Will do! So far it's going well (minus the brain fuzziness when I try to pull my head out and back into the 'real world') It definately is a challenge to read! *Whips out metaphorical sword and aims it at the heart of the book* I shall conquer!
  7. She has been battling drug problems for some time now, I wonder if that had something to do with her death. So far the only info I've been able to find is on TMZ.
  8. Wow, that's shocking news. I loved her films!
  9. Muse on Saturday Night Live
  10. Thanks, I wish the same for you too :)

  11. Working on The Divine Comedy. I'm a few chapters in and my brain is starting to go numb.
  12. Due to my inability to resist temptation I started The Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri last night. So far I am addicted and can't seem to put it down! http://search.barnesandnoble.com/Divine-Comedy/Dante/e/9781435103849/?itm=1&USRI=the+divine+comedy
  13. I don't know much about the English university system, unfortunately. I admit that I did the whole university thing wrong when I went. I filled my life with distractions and then stuffed school into the empty time slots left over from those distractions. Now that I have been paying off the loans for the last 4 years I am very much aware of the weight of my poor choices. Sometimes it takes seeing something from a different angle to realize how much you want it and how important it truely is.

I really hope things go better for you when you go back. Film, eh?

  14. What do you plan on studying when you go back? Have you considered taking any photography classes?

 College would be much better (in my opinion) if we could get rid of the core classes (especially math and speech) and focus solely on what we want for our degree. I ended up taking time off because I was struggling so much with math (and then I became a banker- ironic?) That is my greatest fear about going back. I'm scared I won't be able to handle the math.

I ordered my copy of Salem's Lot today. Should be here before Christmas :D.

  15. Watching Bridget Jones' Diary now
  16. Love Actually
  17. I would love anything you happen to find! Thank you
  18. What is your favorite thing about it? I love it! It is one of the few poems that pulls you in so strongly that the entire world of 'reality' around you is non-existant. When I would stop reading it took me a second to bring my brain back into the present. I love it when a writer can make you feel like you are personally living in their work like that. I do think that in order to get the most out of it I will need to read it again, though. There is just so much there!
  19. Dracula is fantastic! Have you read The Un-Dead by Dacre Stoker (Bram's great-grandson)? I haven't yet but it is on the list. He actually used Bram's own notes for Dracula.

Haha, when I first told my dad I wanted to write he asked me 'So you want to be poor?' The concept of following one's dreams and running the risk of being poor vs. living in the purgatory of a job you hate praying for retirement for the sake of a steady paycheck is a highly debated one in my family. I guess that's why I ended up compromising and majoring in Journalism. They don't know (yet) that I've decided to change majors and follow my own dreams.

  20. There may be another viewing on the horizon... What is the old term, one to try, two to taste and three to decide? Thanks for posting those facts
  21. Just finished Paradise Lost by John Milton today. I always amaze myself when I actually read it to the very end. That has to be one of the most difficult books for me to get through without my brain spontaniously exploding half way through. I think I will dig thorugh the old book shelf for an easy read to do next. Maybe I'll reread City of Bones (yay for Clare deciding to do a 4th book!) That is one of the most unique and well written series I've read. Yeah, think I'll do that...
  22. I agree. That's why it is hard for me to read authors such as Nora Roberts or Danielle Steel who use the same basic outline for all of their novels; they only change the names of their characters and locations. Maybe that's why I'm drawn to classics- they paved the way and inspired much of the the junk that is produced today  It would be amazing to get inside the head of authors such as J.K. Rowling or Stephenie Meyer (yes, I know...).

  23. A Kind of Magic- Queen Vanilla Twilight- Owl City Midnight Bottle- Colbie Caillat Everybody's Fool- Evanescence Now or Never- Josh Groban Saints of Los Angeles- Motley Crue Emergency- Paramore Life is a Flower- Ace of Base Trippin'- Godsmack Butterfly in Reverse- Counting Crows
  24. I just cracked open a bottle of wine so all is good over here *hiccup*:D
