  4. Oh my god! that's just down the road from us and the owners are patients of ours! We normally get ours from the Bejing in Balloch
  5. Oh my! Asda do actually sell a giant French Fancy cake, i've walked past them several times and resisted the urge to buy one. It's only a matter of time until i cave in...resistance is futile
  6. It was a good book (honest ) just not my cup of tea - it was set in the 1930's and about Hitler, i'd never have bought it if it had been written by anyone else.

    Hiya!

hehe! maybe we can compare tactics
  11. Is noise allowed? The TV or the children? I find it difficult to concentrate unless its relatively quiet. My hubby has just bought a home cinema system and watches a lot of dvds, so it sounds like someone is filming an action movie in our livingroom most of the time i tend to start off on the couch and end up in the bedroom with the cat Indoors or out? Morning or Evening? If its quiet i can read anywhere, in the car, on the bus. I read a lot in work in-between patients which is great, and then i read some more on my lunch break. Do you read on sofa or do you prefer to snuggle in bed with a good read? Both, and i love reading last thing at night in bed
  12. I had no idea they were making a film of The Blue Nowhere! im chuffed I love Jeffery Deaver, have read most of his books and there's only one or two that i didnt really enjoy - one of them being The Garden of Beasts if i remember correctly. Have just bought The Bodies Left Behind and looking forward to starting it
  13. The Crazies and Shutter Island for me too!
  14. I absolutely love horror films and we have quite a big collection My favourites are probably The Descent, The Hills have Eyes (remake) and Let The Right One In (although to me it was more of a story about love and friendship) The horror films that have disturbed/shocked me the most would have to be Martyrs, Frontiers and Irreversible (which i had to fast forward at one scene in particular) The film that has scared me the most would probably be The Blair Witch Project (dont laugh ) When we went to the cinema to see it it had just come out in the uk, and as far as we knew (or so the media led us to believe) it was infact a true story/real footage. I found the film really uncomfortable to watch - from when they lost the map and started going round in circles and losing the plot, right up until the end where Mike stood in the corner (at which point i shut my eyes because i was scared of what i might see )

    Hiya!

I joined this forum last year, but due to a rather nasty accident with my laptop and a mug of hot chocolate i never actually got the chance to join in! Now that i have a lovely shiny new computer and mugs of hot chocolate are banned from anywhere remotely near my desk! i thought i'd have another go Im a 35 (soon to be 36 ) year old scots lass. I live with my lovely hubby and our assortment of pets in Loch Lomond, Scotland I work full time as a dental nurse which i absolutely love, and i've worked in the same practice since i left school. I've loved to read since i was a wee lassie, and if im not found with my head buried in a book, then people usually wonder what's wrong My favourite authors are King, Koontz, Herbert, Deaver, and Hutson and my favourite genre is Horror. I've decided to try and broaden my horizons a wee bit and try something new for a change. I feel im missing out as there's so many absolutely amazing books out there, and i havent even made a dent in them yet! I've just finished reading The Secret Scripture ~ Sebastian Barry which i absolutely loved and at the moment im finding it difficult to tear myself away from The Road ~ Cormac Mccarthy. I've never experienced the feeling of such total and utter despair for characters in a book as i do for them, and yet i dont want to put it down. Anyway im off for a proper nosey round the forums and im looking forward to getting to know everyone! Lynn x
