Aah fair enough, well if anyone wants to lend it just let me know
-
I could start it on a book ring if enough people would be interested?
-
Me too since I love the TV series, I've actually got the box set too
-
I bought a book by Douglas Coupland on ebay the other day called Girlfriend in a Coma, it looks quite interesting so I hope it's good.
Also, how did you find Band of Brothers Raven?
-
I can't make up my mind whether to cook something out of the poor supply of food that I have, which would probably be either noodles or pesto gnocchi, or have a take away, decisions, decisions!

I started reading this last night so I'm a few chapters in and I'm really struggling to get into it, I'm going to persevere a bit longer though as it's been recommended to me . Hopefully, like Michelle, I'll start enjoying it once he's actually on the boat!

I am completely with you there Echo
-
Also, (sorry for double posting) I've just found The Works website, I know some of you were saying you missed having one in your town, it's www.theworks.co.uk
-
Well I'm off on a book shopping trip today as I've found
-
Me too!!! Knowing my luck he'll have read it. That's what happened on Fathers Day! Oh well if he has, i'll just nick it off him and get him something else
-
Yeah thanks to Inver who has been helping my idiotic self, I know am starting to understand how it all works!

I agree with the graphic scenes issue, I really don't like it, if I want graphic scenes, I'll go elsewhere, I don't like reading them in books. I don't mind if they just skim over it, but sometimes they make me wince, and I'm no prude! Ok, I read mainly chick lit, so I have to expect some graphic scenes, but certain books, such as Tasmina Perry's Goldigger's has completely put me off reading anything else by her purely because of the sex scenes in it, they're just way too much!
(I'll get off my soap box now:lol:)

Well I don't quite understand how you get books that haven't been released into the wild? If you can? Sorry, I know I'm being really stupid here!
-
Well I've just joined this, under the name amethyst23, and I have to say, I'm slightly confused, I don't really get it haha!! I didn't think I was that simple but clearly I am!

Well after reading this post, I've just ordered The Bone Collector for my Dad as it's his birthday in a week and I was a bit stumped as to what to get him. I've seen the film and really enjoyed it, not sure if he's seen it though but this genre is his thing, I hope he enjoys it, would mean I can buy the rest of the series for the next few christmasses and birthdays hehe!

Oh thanks! I like war fiction from both wars, although I am more familiar with WWII fiction. I'll add these to my TBR list
-
Ooh I'll be adding this to my list too, it sounds really interesting, I like war based fiction as well so it ticks all my boxes!
-
Aah Gyre they're beautiful, it looks like a really nice place. I've never been to Scotland but would really like to go there someday
-
Yeah, it seems to deal with actual proper issues, well certainly in My Best Friends Girl and Goodnight, Beautiful anyway!!
Have to say, The Cupid Effect was probably my least favourite of them all too!!

I was sure I'd already replied on this thread but obviously not!
Dorothy Koomson is one of my favourite authors, I've read all of her books and think she's brilliant and slightly different from the norm. She actually has a new book coming out soon called Ice Cream Girls I think, I had her newsletter through yesterday but haven't had a chance to look at it properly yet.
