  1. Ooooo, have fun reading Linger. I look forward to your review. I'm hoping I get it for Xmas... Or even sooner!

    Hope you are well.

    CW.

  2. Eeek!! Really??!!! Oh dear! Maybe I won't buy it for her then!!
  3. I have read the first two books and I loved them. I watched the film on Sunday and I was utterly disspaointed. Even though the three other people (Two 8 year olds and my best mate) thought the film was good) There are many thngs different from the book. The film is pale in comparison. To the people who have watched the films and not read the books, please please pelase read the books. You will be in for some/ many surprises that are not in the film.
  4. a combined price on Amazon. Around £50 I think. He wants the flying tardis. But I heard that the earlier ones are actually better so I might leave that for a while.

  5. Their holidays are actually shorter this year. I think it is a little less than 6 weeks. I think it is an ideal period of time. But not good on the paycheck haha. We lucky as I have a few holidays planned and things to do.

Yep the New Sonic Screwdriver. Green cost a bomb, but I heard that it would be sold out for Xmas so just got it now. I also got the Doc and Amy Figures & DVD, as it...

  6. Why thank you @sarapepperkaka YOu are more than welcome to join as long as you are a innocent lady and like a bit of fluff!
  7. I think you might. I read it at the beginning of the year and gave it good marks. It is a light quick read, but kept me entertained I read it in a couple of days. My only issue was that there was not enough, action' so to speak for me. But that is just personal opinion, and I am looking forward to reading Linger. @ Fi have you read Burned yet? I noticed you read it for July reads. I have just finished Tempted. Becuase of the ending I have reserved Burned. I was not that keen on Tempted until the end. P.c and Kirstin cast really do know how to write endings so you wanna read the next book!
  8. I saw this on Coronation Street last night. ( I never watch it normally my Mother was here..... Honest!) anyway Derdre Barlow was reading it, and said t was amazing and raving about it on the show. I have heard nothing but good about this book. Do you think my Mum, who never reads books apart from Danielle steele, would like it? I like to get her a book every year but she is so difficult to buy for. They sound interesting, can you tell the name of the first book in the series?? Thanks. I have loads if not all of the authors books on my TBR pile, they look so interesting and right up my street. Great review, may well put them up the pile a bit. I have this on my TBR pile. I was strted reading it a while ago but my mojo was on holiday and I hada huuuge pile of library books to get through, but I am so looking forward to reading it looks amazing!!!!! Great lot of books there, I will be looking closely at your book reviews in the future. CW.
  9. The three seperate books scare me!!! I have this on my wishlist. I have heard some good and bad reviews, but heard that most people think that the series has a lot of potiental. Looking forward to hearing your review. As for me, I did manage some reading I finally started the book The Devil's Star by Jo Nesbo. I read the first five chapters before I fell asleep. It was Ok so far. I hope to settle into it soon. Still don't seem to be as one with the book. I hope to soon, I have heard nothing but good for this author.
  10. That sucks about the Resurrectionist. I saw that in a charity shop and the Blurb looks really inticing. Hmm my mojo is still tempermental so I may slot it down a few notches. Oh you should recommmend them to me I need something to kick start my mojo!!! Are you alright there Charm, you seem to have an awful cough.?? Hehe, you likea 'bit of fluff' don't cha Peacfield? *High five* Join the 'Bit of fluff' group for Sweet...Innocent..Ladies'
  11. Hello mate! I'm ok thanks. I now a week of work which is good. Kids first week of the summer Hols. 6 weeks to go! Other than that I'm Ok :) How are you?? Oh I got my oldest the new Sonic ScrewDriver for Xmas, looks awesome!

  12. Haha! Awesome you found that note mate! I bet you were being very sneaky sneaky trying to look around trying to see who found it That Mo Hayder book is the one I don't have. I am sure we had a discussion about Hayder right at the beginning of the year and I kept getting hte titles mixed up. I still have not read any of them, but look forward to your review Yay for second hand book shops!
  13. Ooo, I found there were a couple characters that I didn't like in the first so I hope that won't put me off. Gah! Maybe I should get it sooner rather than later!
  14. Whatcha trying to say Fi! I am a sweet... Innocent... Lady.. Who is rather shy to 'smut' . *Runs out of the house to go get the book!*
  15. They really do sound like they would be up his street thanks for that Chesilbeach.
  16. Thats good to know Michelle! This site might be good for you and your son... My link
  17. I would recommend the Skulduggery Pleasant series. Just finished reading the first one and I think an 11year old would love it! He might like the Maximum Ride series by James Patterson. fantastic reads, The first few were awesome. I was not keen on the fourth one but I have heard other people love it. I think it is up to it's six in the series. Another one by Patterson is Witch and wizard. If you like the HUnger games he might like this. Rick Riodan who wrote the Percy Jackson series (which I love reading to my son) has a new series out. The Kane Chronicle Series. It is about Egyptian Mythology. I have not read it yet as I am going to y it for my son for Xmas. The first one in the series (and I think the only one out at presen)t is called The red pyramid. Artemus Fowl are always a good series. I read these also to my son and he loves them. Hope some of these suggestions help
  18. Have you read the second in the Hunger Games series? It is suppose to be better than the first. How about some Jasper Fforde? I have only read The Big Over Easy and The fourth Bear, but I find them great for light Holiday reading. Another book that maybe quite good is Wicked. The others name has dissapeared on me, but I am sure someone on here will give you the name. The theatre production of the same name is based on the book. Have you tried the HOuse of the Night Series by P.C and Kirstin Cast? It's a vampire series but nothing like Twilight. Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick is another book that I really enjoyed. Not vampires as such but can be compared to twilight. Also Shiver by Maggie (forgot her surname) A big favourite with some of us on this forum and the second one in the series has jus come out. Not about vampires but Warewolves.
  19. I too love Abs! I saw it and it just made me giggle!
  20. Hi and welcome! Haha what a very clever idea!! What are some of the books that you have on that massive TBR pile of yours? Do you have any Crime Thrillers? Look forward to reding some of your reviews (If you decide to do any) Oh and Good luck on that ban. You will find so many recommendations that your wishlist book will be filled by the end of the year, and and your Credit cards and Library cards witll get awfully floppy by being used so much. Enjoy the forum and see you around. CW!
  21. GWTW is one of the books that I get told I have to read. I go to pick it up and think Crikey, there is no way I can read a book that big when, honestly, I have no actual interest to read the book other than I have heard good recommendations for it. I will read it one day, maybe when I'm retired and I have the time again to just read, read, read.
  22. Are you not liking the book Brida? As for me, I have only got 2 pages read of the Jo Nesbo - The Devil's Star read. Just because it is the first day of the Summer Hols for the kids and they are craving my undivided attention today. I am hoping I am not too tired to get some reading down during work. Lets just hope that this is going to be a good book!
  23. Oooo er Missus!!! You think it is my sort of thing Fi?
  24. Brillian t thanks for that Vladd.
  25. Ooo, thanks Kell. For some reason the name rang a bell and I think he has some books that are to do with Roman times. I will take a note of those ones and check he does not have them. Thanks Kell.
