  1. I read some more in Falling for you by Jill Mansell, I read the manga Gakuen Prince 3 yesterday evening since it arrived yesterday. An other book to arrive was Lucky Break by Carly Phillips.
  2. I order them all the time at the moment some books are pre-ordered to be released in March next year, I don't really keep up with when they arrive and when they are released. I have to wait 2 days anyway since I am in Belgium (Uk-Belgium takes 2 days it seems).
  3. I've read some more in my 2 books of the moment: I can start at chapter 8 this evening in Only Pleasure by Lora Leigh and on the way home I can start chapter 12 of Falling for you by Jill Mansell
  4. there are online programs for that aswell like shelfari or librarything
  5. Since I mostly read chick-lit and romance (paranormal/urban/other) I can get up to 15 books a month. Some months I am in a less reading mood and it will be a few less than 15. I don't kow exactly how much I do in a year but since I started working 3 years ago I have started keeping track of the books I bought and then read and it seems to be coming up to a total of 280 since then. On a weekly base I at least read 2 books (one during the week, one during the weekend) but mostly I need an other book furing the week because I already finished my week book and then sometimes there is a book number 4 when I feel like reading something completely different at night (being a night/bed book).
  6. Blurb: Erin McCarthy – My Immortal In the late eighteenth century, plantation owner Damien du Bourg struck an unholy bargain with a fallen angel: an eternity of inspiring lust in others for the gift of immortality. But when Marley Turner stumbles upon Damien's plantation searching for her missing sister, for the first time in two hundred years it's Damien who can't resist the lure of a woman. But his past sins aren't so easily forgotten-or forgiven. My Opinion Since only recently reading a Erin McCarthy book, I thought I knew what I was up against when starting this book. I couldn’t have been more wrong. Since I already read a few books from this author I knew there would be some hot passion in there, but this one was a little bit different from all the other books, and I loved it. This is the first book in the SEVEN DEADLY SINS series, the sin LUST is the one portrait in this book, and what better city than New Orleans to be the stage of this story. I recommend it to all chick-lit readers who like some hot scenes in their books Grade:8/10
  7. Blurb: Robyn Sisman – Weekend in Paris One Friday afternoon, unappreciated by her boss, Molly walks out of her job. Boarding a Eurostar to Paris she begins to live life to the full in a world of leafy boulevards, luscious foods and smouldering Frenchmen. By Sunday night, she is a new person. My Opinion I bought this book just when I finished reading a more recent book by this author. I thought that book was really good. So I decided to get an older book by the same writer. I took my time reading the book (In my case taking my time mostly means reading over night and during the weekend a book I started during the week), and I think it’s not a bad book. Set in Paris and some French free love, who can resist wanting to go and spend a weekend like that in the capital of France??? After finishing the book I was thinking maybe I should go back to Paris myself and see what’s on offer for a single girl like me Grade:7.5/10
  8. Over the weekend I finished Weekend in Paris by Robyn Sisman then I read some more in Only Pleasure by Lora Leigh but since this book is 18+ I don't drag it along on the train so this morning I started reading Falling for you by Jill Mansell.
  9. I'm reading 3 books at the moment: Weekend in Paris by Robyn Sisman (need to start chapter 6) My Immortal by Erin McCarthy (starting chapter 11) Only Pleasure by Lora Leigh (only read the prologue) I made a deal with myself not to order/buy new books untill I only have 10 books left on my shelves that I need to read and there are still about 67 on there. The books I already ordered I won't cancell but they normally are going to arrive with weeks interval between them and some are even for next year already so I'm not stressed about that.
  10. Blurb:Simon Says - Lori Foster Sexy ex-fighter Simon Evans has the perfect life - until he catches his girlfriend cheating. To Work off his rage, he goes back into the ring full-force. But a gutsy and gorgeous P.I. is about to send him reeling with a secret about his family - and one about her heart. My Opinion Something different again, but still hot athleted. This time fighters and regimes they need to follow. Well we all know what happens when a man gets tempted with the woman who might be the one, they will do anything to get them were they want them (mostly meaning in their bed). So that is wat happens here as well, eventually. And the whole way up to the happy ending, which I at one moment thought might not happen, we are falling in love along with the main characters. Grade:7/10
  11. finished Simon Says by Lori Foster, started Weekend in Paris by Robyn Sisman I am what I am by John Barrowman arrived in the mail
  12. Blurb: Erin McCarthy – Flat out sexy Independent single mother Tamara Briggs wanted to find a new, sexy, no-strings-attached man - just not one as young as NASCAR driver Elec Monroe. But he sure does get her heart racing. And after she's tricked into a blind date with him, Tamara gives in to her passion. Things screech to a halt, though, when he asks to meet her children. Whatever happened to wham-bam-thank-youma'am? Suddenly Tamara has to decide how much risk she's willing to take to experience the power of true love. My Opinion After all the books about Scottish highlanders, hockey players, vampires, werewolves,… I decided I needed something else, maybe get into an other sport and then I saw the Erin McCarthy book online and immediately ordered it. Since reading other work by her I knew I would be in for a treat. This is the first time I really read a book about a car sport, or a driver. Not bad, not bad at all, is all I have to say about it and the second in the series is on my buy list. Grade:7/10
  13. Blurb: Kelley Armstrong - Bitten Elena Michaels is a self-described "mutt," a werewolf who left her secretive pack in upstate New York for a life among humans. In the year since she relocated to Toronto, she's embarked on a career as a journalist and begun a pleasingly mundane relationship with a decent man. All this is jeopardized when she agrees to help her old packmates hunt some troublesome mutts who are converting common criminals to werewolves and leaving a trail of conspicuous carnage. Reunited with her former lycanthrope lover and forced into brutally predatory confrontations, Elena finds the call of the wild subtly reasserting itself. Armstrong prepares readers for her tale's twists with several key revisions of werewolf lore the werewolf taint is mostly hereditary, and werewolves can be killed as easily as any human or wolf. Her true achievement, though, is her depiction of werewolf nature in believably human context. Elena's feral sensibility, like her psychological vulnerabilities, seems a natural outgrowth of her abusive childhood, and her relationship with the pack is that of any prodigal child to a close-knit family. The sensuality of Elena's transformations and the viciousness of her kills mesh perfectly with her tough personality. My Opinion This was my back-up book on holiday, but since I didn’t get to read it while on holiday I just read it the moment I got home. What can I say, werewolves are as paranormal as it gets and this is the first real werewolf story I’ve read since actually finishing Breaking Dawn. Only to note that this is much more mature and that after hearing so much good about this book series I have to agree with the good reviews it truly is a great book for one of those quiet days in house. Grade:7.5/10
  14. Blurb: Carly Phillips – Lucky Streak Long ago, a witch proclaimed an eternal curse that every Corwin male who married for love would be destined to lose his woman and his fortune. The good news is that Mike, a police officer, awakens after some hard partying in Vegas $100,000 richer and married to Amber, the gorgeous woman he met the night before. The bad news: His last name is Corwin. The really bad news is that Amber's a consummate con who took his money and ran. Seems the family curse has finally hit him. (Hard). But to Amber, Mike isn't business as usual. Something about her new husband softens her steely heart, even as she betrays him. If only she didn't need the money to ensure her father's safety, she might have actually fallen for the intense lawman. Instead, she's on the run. From the bad guys. From her former con partner. And from the man she might have loved. Now Mike, first hell-bent on revenge (divorce), welcomes a second chance to defy the curse. and turn his run of bad fortune into a lucky streak! My Opinion I started reading this book while I was still abroad, and read further on the plane home and even more once I got home. I read the first book in the Corwin Cursed series I think at the beginning of the year, I ordered this one from the moment that I saw a pre-order version online. And I’m looking forward (and I pre-ordered) the 3rd book in the series already. With saying all this I just want to say I like the series. This is the book I took with me to have a change in paranormal urban romances (not counting the hockey book which I always call the hockey series), and a big change it was and I think it was my best choice in “not-to-heavy” drag along books I could have made. Grade:7/10
  15. Blurb: Lynsay Sands – Devil of the Highlands They call him the Devil, the most notorious laird in all of Scotland. But Cullen, the new Larid of Donnachaidh, pays them no heed. He cares only about the survival of his clan, and for that, he needs a wife. He wants someone stout to bear him sons. He wants a pliable woman who wouldn't question his dictates. He wants a passionate woman to warm his bed...one out of three isn't bad. Evelinde has lived under the cruel thumb of her stepmother for too long. That is the only explanation for her eagerness to wed the "Devil of the Highlands". She's determined to be a good wife, but this Devil needs to learn that there is more to a marriage than what goes on in the bedchamber... My Opinion Yet an other book about a highlander, but this time by one of my favourite authors. What to say about it, all I can say is I loved it. Since I haven’t read a bad thing by Miss Sands since I started reading her books, I knew this book wouldn’t disappoint me. This being the first of 3 books I’m looking forward to the next ones, since they still need to be released I have a little while to wait. Grade:8/10
  16. Blurb: Richelle Mead – Succubus Blues Succubus (n.) An alluring, shape-shifting demon who seduces and pleasures mortal men. Pathetic (adj.) A succubus with great shoes and no social life. See: Georgina Kincaid. When it comes to jobs in hell, being a succubus seems pretty glamorous. A girl can be anything she wants, the wardrobe is killer, and mortal men will do anything just for a touch. Granted, they often pay with their souls, but why get technical? But Seattle succubus Georgina Kincaid's life is far less exotic. Her boss is a middle-management demon with a thing for John Cusack movies. Her immortal best friends haven't stopped teasing her about the time she shape-shifted into the Demon Goddess getup complete with whip and wings. And she can't have a decent date without sucking away part of the guy's life. At least there's her day job at a local bookstore--free books; all the white chocolate mochas she can drink; and easy access to bestselling, sexy writer, Seth Mortensen, aka He Whom She Would Give Anything to Touch but Can't. But dreaming about Seth will have to wait. Something wicked is at work in Seattle's demon underground. And for once, all of her hot charms and drop-dead one-liners won't help because Georgina's about to discover there are some creatures out there that both heaven and hell want to deny... My Opinion Last year on a book shopping trip I bought the 3rd book in this series. Since I check all the books I buy if they belong to a series, I noticed that I had to get the first two books to read before I could read the 3rd book. So I bough book 1 and 2 in august to start at the beginning. It took me about 20 pages to really get into the book, but that’s not bad it means I wasn’t into the world of Succubae at the moment I started reading. Once the book picked up and I got further and further in the book I really started to like the book. I’ll soon read the 2nd book in the series. Grade:7/10
  17. Blurb:Judi McCoy – Almost a Goddess 21st-Century Performance appraisal Kyra Position Title -- Muse of Good Fortune Evaluated by -- Mighty Zeus, President, CEO, Top God Performance Assessment Kyra's performance has, quite frankly, been a disappointment over these past one hundred years. Our Muse of Good Fortune, despite her exceptional charm and unearthly beauty, has been slacking off, getting by on her looks, wiles, and considerable sex appeal -- not to mention her privileged position as the daughter of Mighty Zeus Himself! Performance Objectives The best place on Earth for the Muse of Good Fortune to make a difference is . . . Las Vegas. Therefore Kyra is to spend one year at the famous Acropolis Casino, where she will inspire good fortune. During her sentence, she is forbidden from getting romantically involved with a mortal, and most especially not with Jake Lennox. This professional gambler-turned-investigator is too seductive and attractive for his own good. Besides, Jake has an agenda that may prove too dangerous for Kyra's soft heart. So, if she falls in love, all bets are off. My Opinion I bought this book to have an other type of romance on my shelves. It appealed to me since this was about gods and muses. I really liked his book , but as you can expect when you read a blurb like this, love is going to happen, if the main character wants it or not. I can’t wait until I can buy the other 2 books in the series once I finished my enormous TBR list. Grade:7.5/10
  18. Blurb: Kerrelyn Sparks – The undead next door Three signs that something is very different with your new man: 1. He sleeps all day . . . which would be annoying except he's so attentive at night. 2. He's attacked by sword-wielding assailants, yet insists he can handle it on his own. 3. He never seems to age. Heather Westfield has always lived a quiet life, but that all changes when she helps a very handsome, very mysterious stranger. There's something not quite right about Jean-Luc, but still, she's never been with a man so charming, so attractive . . . so wonderful. Now if only a murderous villain wasn't after them, they might get their happily-ever-after. My Opinion A French vampire, with all the misunderstandings in it. Since I’m working my way through a few book series and this is one of them, I just dumped it in my suitcase and dragged it along. This might seem like I didn’t like it, but I did. When selecting my books to go on holiday I was very careful not to get books about the same topic. This was my vampire book. And since most of these books( the Love at Stake books) have a little bit of action in them, it is really nice to read when you can finish them in one go. Yes I did finish it in one go, started just around noon and finished at night. Grade:7.5/10
  19. Blurb: Deirdre Martin – Chasing Stanley Professional hockey player Jason Mitchell is thrilled when he's traded to the New York Blades-the team of his dreams. There's just one problem: his pooch isn't adjusting to city life too well. Good thing he crosses paths with dog trainer Delilah Gould. And then he begins to fall for her... Now, with the season heating up, Jason realizes he'll have to score big to win the Stanley Cup-and the woman who has tamed his dog and unleashed his heart. My Opinion My first official read of my holidays. And there were a few that I dragged along just to have enough to read. I love these books, one hot man and a humongous dog equals a story you should read. Although earlier on about a previous story in the Blades series I said I had a d
  20. Blurb: Dawn Atkins – Her sexiest surprise All Chloe Baxter wants for her birthday is one kiss from hottie Riley Connelly. She gets that and more. That one kiss leads to the most amazing one-night stand of her life. Sex with Riley is beyond spectacular. But when morning comes, she's resigned to returning to real life. Except that for Chloe, real life has gotten complicated. Her big job promotion has landed her in the middle of Riley's undercover investigation. Worse, he wants her to spy on her employers. Can she betray the people she cares about for a man she can't keep her hands off? And if survival means choosing between her head and her heart, Chloe's not sure which one will hurt worse if she loses it.. My Opinion My last indulgence before I left on holiday. I hadn’t finished so I took it with me on the plane, by the time the plane touched down (only a 2 hour flight) I finished reading it. Even though this is a harlequin story, I sometimes thought if it was a little longer it just could have been a regular romance book(with a little detective work in there). Grade:6.5/10
  21. Blurb:Kerrelyn Sparks – Sugarplums and Scandal And just in time comes this grand gift of seasonal mystery and romance from six of popular fiction's most supremely talented "Santas"-;for 'tis the season for scandals, suspense, and all sorts of unexpected surprises! Enjoy Lori Avocato's tale of the sexy fraud investigator and the delinquent dentist, and Dana Cameron's suspenseful story of a not-so-merry Christmas Eve at an English manor house. Savor Mary Daheim's scrumptious gathering of lively loved ones and one ghostly guest, and Cait London's blood-chilling tale of a menaced Christmas do-gooder. Suzanne Macpherson delights with a Yuletide fable about a perky, persistent spirit and her haunted ex-fianc
  22. Blurb: Donna Kauffman – Bad boys in Kilts You know those Scottish bad boys - they don‘t wear anything under their kilts, and who would want them to? Now, USA Today bestselling author Donna Kauffman introduces the Chisholm brothers, three of the sexiest lads ever to leave a woman hungry for moor My Opinion I’ve already stated that I love those Scottish men somewhere in some other review of a book with some highlander in it. Well this time they are rugged, and of this time and age. I recommend this book to all the women who want to swoon for a Scottish burr. Grade:6.5/10
  23. Blurb: Deirdre Martin, Gery Buckley, Annette Blair, Julia London – Hot Ticket Deirdre Martin's Same Rink, Next Year has a sexy concierge hooking up with the same gorgeous hockey player every year. Uncomplicated? Not when love enters the picture. Julia London's Lucky Charm listens in on an uninhibited radio host who goes head-to-head with a hot-shot shortstop-on-the-air and off. Annette Blair's You Can't Steal First follows a Red Sox star player who's interested in a sexy sporting-goods magnate. But first he has to prove he's not just playing the field. Geri Buckley's Can't Catch This spies on an adventurous female football fan who discovers that the hottest action is in the stands. My Opinion What to say about this book. Honestly I read it because there was a story in by Deirdre Martin that fitted in to the Blades series, which I’m reading. But all the other jocks in the other stories were charming as well. Since I started reading the Blades series I discovered the world of the male athletes in writing and honest to God I love ‘em. So about this book again then, well I loved the fact that I had one story to read per day, not going overly fast since I read mostly on the train and if the stories are short enough I can finish a story per day. And then the other reason for liking this book is the oh so hot and scrumptious men. Grade:7/10
  24. Blurb: Lynsay Sands – The Deed Inheriting a fortune when her chaste husband dies, virgin widow Emmaline Eberhart is promised as part of a political agreement to knight Amaury de Aneford, who is surprisingly challenged by his innocent new wife. My Opinion: After reading 11 of Lynsay Sands’s book in the Argeneau/Rogue series, I wanted to check out her previous work in historical romances. This being the fist one on the list and the first one I read. Well I love to say that she is one heck of a writer cause this being different from the normal vampire romance that I’ve read I loved the story. Grade:7.5/10
