  2. I am new here on the forum. I'm 26 and from Belgium. I have always enjoyed reading. It is escaping to an other world for me. Mostly I read chick-lit and I even have my bad spells in which I pick up a Harlequin book. Besides the typical chick-lit I also read a few crime series and biographies. I read all my books in english, I used to read them in dutch. I read a few in french, but that was mostly because of school assignments. I am able to read them in german if needed.
  3. I'm from Belgium. A little town in the north-east to be exact. Was born and raised here, never lived anywhere else in the world.
  4. I used to read all my books in dutch, reason for that was that the town library only has them in dutch. But since 2 years I started buying books instead of borrowing them(I want a library of my own). Since the day I decided to buy and start a collection I've been buying them in english. But for my point translations honestly can suck and take away a lot of the book. I had discussions about books I read in dutch and other people in english because I just thought it wasn't good. After rereading those books again in english I came to the conclusion that translations aren't always that good. Now I have a rule, if possible read the books in the language their written in. So I can read books in dutch, english, german and french now, but at the moment I'm sticking to english ones
  5. I switch bookmarks a lot. When travelling it will be a travel receipt. But since November I've got my RSC Hamlet ticket to use as a bookmark. Beside that when on the train to work I also put my train card in between but that's just practical since I don't want to search for it every time they come to check it.
  6. I have 83 books on my book shelf waiting to be read. I'm a bookaholic when it comes to buying books. But I also believe in having a lot of choice when it comes to reading. I have a few series in there and a few biographies, some crime and a lot of chick-lit. I know I'm going to buy more books soon but I keep reading the ones I've got and then go on with the newer ones
  7. I buy most of my books on Amazon, since I'm in Belgium and english books are hard to come by here. There mostly is a small selection in the book store I frequent but mostly I've read those already. When I go on one of my London trips I only buy books at Borders. I don't know why but the store on Charing Cross just calls out to me there
  8. Every couple of months I try to go on in Rupert Everets biography(red carpets and other banana skins), but every time I quit after a few chapters. I like biographies in general read some very funny ones even but this one just can't get me to keep reading. I'm going to pick it up again, I know I am, since I bought it I think it's a pitty not to read it.
  9. I also cried when reading PS I love you (ruined the film for me completely cried all the way through the film). An other book I blubbered with is Atonement. Especially the last pages
  10. I read most 300 page books in one sitting. Since I still live at my parent's place and don't have a lot to do on a Saturday I crawl into the sofa and start reading. Mostly I can't read in one sitting though. I lug around a book all week to read on the train to and fro work. By the end of the week it mostly is finished, exceptions on that rule are finished friday night in bed.
  11. I am a 28/30 year old woman with the ability of far-seeing trapped in 14th century Scotland with a yummy laird who's crazy about me.
  12. I read the book right before the film was released. I liked the book(and as always i liked it better than the film).
  13. This series seems to have done well. There are 12 books up to now and I've read 8 of them up to now. I've gone through the brothers and sister of Lucern now and a cousin and a few uncles. Next up is Marguerite, Lucerns mother. I love these books a lot, it's well written, even after 8 of them I still fall in love with an Argeneau family member every single time I start a new one. In my opinion after reading the Twilight series, this is one of the better vampire romance series I've read up to now. Not giving up the search for vampire romances though I might get surprised by authors like Kerrelyn Sparks or Katie MacAlister books that I still have to read.
  14. I'm feeling a bit bad here. I've actually read 34 Little Black Dress books. I loved a few, some I just finsihed because I started reading them, but I think it has to do with the author you've selected. I have a new one laying by to start reading but at the moment it's going to stay in the book basket on wait until I feel like mindless reading again.
