  1. You haven't installed a 'no script' add-on on your browser have you? If so, it won't recognise the flash on the site you are on until you give it page permissions. This is a large image of the icon: http://experts.missouristate.edu/download/attachments/14910762/noscript.png
  2. I wish I could get into the habit of using a book mark. I tend to either put the book face down or I commit the page number to memory (yeah and that always works well ).
  3. Oh I LOVE this series! I have read all but the last two. She is pretty good when it comes to her history but in the early days she used to get people sending mail picking her up on the smallets things. She said it was so disheartening because she put so much into them and tried to be as accurate as possible. She decided to start do putting in the odd deliberate mistake to see if they would pick up on it. I also have to say that the best ebding in any book I have eve read was See Dephi and Die

    Hey all

Welcome!! Hope you enjoy the site!
  5. I should have guessed! There's another for my wish list
  6. What book is this? Sounds like something I would enjoy!
  7. Oops!! I am trying to figure out why he is naked and wish I could hear what his neighbours had to say!
  8. I was thinking about your global challenge and you should read one of the Wallander series by Henning Mankell for your Swedish book. I have read one and loved it! I am going to read the series in order eventually. Oh and the BBC series with Kenneth Branagh was really well done and kept to the book.

  9. I haven't really read much Chick Lit in the last couple of years but I used to love Fiona Walker. I also liked Marian Keyes and Jenny Colgan.
  10. Oh that reminds me! I must have read Little Women 3 or 4 times.
  11. I keep picking this up and looking at it each time I go to the book shop but something just makes me put it down again. I think this has made up my mind and I will have to go and buy it now!
  12. Oh I love Nelson DeMille's books! I have read Plum Island a few times, Charm School twice and Lions Game twice. Other rereads (t least all the ones I can think of off the top of my head): Rebecca - Daphne Du Maurier Jane Eyre - Charlotte Bronte Tell No One - Harlan Coben Pompeii - Robert Harris Archangel - Robert Harris Gorky Park - Martin Cruz Smith Want to reread soon (but means getting in the loft and sifting through a dozen boxes of books that I have stowed away because of lack of book shelf space so probably won't happe anytime soon ) : Behind the Scenes at the Museum - Kate Atkinson Human Croquet - Kate Atkinson The Wilt series by Tom Sharpe

    Mo Hayder

The only one of hers I have read is Tokyo. I thought it was well written and quite shocking and very very sad. I have never had a opportunity to read another but it sounds as though I should avoid Pig Island.
  14. I wish I could say I liked it but I think it wasn't for me really. I loved the mystery behind it but I think there just wasn't enough about the characters, too little development for me (which you did warn me about). Ceinwenn beat me to the answer!! Right now I am a homicide detective listening to a recoded phone call where the killer of a girl has colled in to say he is the murderer.
  15. I'm an American Shakespearean Director and I am on a plane trying to solve who was the real Shakespeare.

    Ncis

I love NCIS. We have been watching it for years and have withdrawls whenever the season ends!
  17. I enjoyed the theories and the history that came out of The Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons but I find Dan Brown to be very formulaic and lacking in character development.
  18. Amazon tried to deliver my copy today but I will have to wait till tomorrow to pick it now. I ordered as soon as I read this thread!
  19. I go through times like that. Especially this time of year when I want to be outside and in the garden. It never lasts long though lol!
  20. I have that one upstairs waiting to be read right now. Glad to hear it is worth reading. I have read the others i this series and really enjoyed them.
  21. I completely forgot about Edward Rutherford. I loved Sarum which I read years ago but have never read London. I think that will have to be my next Door Step challenge! Thanks for the recommendation
