  1. Here is the link for his book tour: http://www.jefferydeaver.com/Schedule/schedule.html
  2. We didn't have pizza in the end. OH was inspired by Jamie Oliver ads and came home with some ground pork so we had burgers and salad.
  3. I think I will make pizza tonight. I was out last night and had a 'healthy' option pasta while everyone else was eating pizza and it was agony
  4. He woke up in a bad way. The Snack Thief - Andrea Camilleri
  5. Mine too, made me laugh out loud!
  6. Mac, I am still reading this as I have had very little tie to myself the last week. But I had to say that your saying it is a wake up callis just absolutely true! I have been finding myself looking at people differently in the last few days. It is a reminder of how much we have.....
  7. Hi and welcome!!
  8. I lean towards male authors for my meat and potatoes reading, like my action thrillers that I just need to fill up on every now and then. You know, the fast paced, something exciting and filling. If I m looking for something to stretch me or something literary, I am happy to read either male or female.
  9. Hi
  10. Good review Mac! I have just picked up a Karen Slaugher (can't remember which one and it is upstairs ) at the charity shop. I haven't read any of hers before either for no particular reason really, just never had the opportunity. I just started The Other Hand yesterday and so far it is charming and very well written. I have high hopes for it so far and I have a feeling it won't disappoint.
  11. Most days I wish I was a British Pound instead of an Africa Girl. The Other Hand - Chris Cleave.
  12. I read the book a month or so ago but don't expect it to be like the film. It is a Danny Wallace book and is hilarious, you'll enjoy it. There are lots of 'laugh out loud' moments.
  13. I don't know wht you were planning for Canada, but I had a book called Outlander by Gil Adamson give to me for Christmas that I just loved! If you want to borrow it let me know and I will send it to you. I have a few others queueing for it so I will need it back but you are welcome to it.
  14. Welcome Eliza! This is a great forum hope you enjoy yourself on here!
  15. I do think the LOTR trilogy was superb and at least did the books justice. I actually preferred the movie Atonement over the book which for me was monotonous. I didn't enjoy the book but I did enjoy he film. I also think the Gone With the Wind was beautifully adapted from the book if not the complete story.
  16. I am spying on my my son's internet usage in the hopes of finding out why he has changed and to see if he is in any kind of trouble.

Chris O'Donnell is lovely! And then there's LL Cool J - I love Mr J! It starts in the US in the autumn but I haven't been able to find when it starts here. We are always a couple months behind so I iomagine we will get in January. Can't wait!

I didn't know that NCIS was getting a spin off! That's brilliant! Any idea who is going to be in it or when it is going to hit TV here?

Hi Mac! I stayed up till 3am this morning to finish it. I loved it, especially the ending. I usually manage to pick up on the whodunnits but this one kept me guessing right till the end.

    Thanks for dropping a line!

  20. LOL, thanks very much! I am looking forward to it. I mean who wouldn't want to be near the coast? I need to check into whether J can come down and if he can, can the dog? If not, we will look at some B&Bs that take pets.

  21. For me these rank pretty high as the worst movies: Titanic (tops the charts!) Any of the Anerican Pie series Troy - even with all the beautiful men it was such a bad film! 300 - ditto the above comment Pearl Harbour That's all I can think of right now. There are lots of movies I don't like but these are the ones I actually think are bad movies.
  22. Mine too! I think it is a great story and I have actually read it a few times now.
  23. What a clever dog!! And I thought my dog rolling over was an achievement.
  24. Not a bad idea! I think I might go with Canada though, I am feeling patriotic tonight having had a phone call from home tonight.
  25. Sounds good to me! Tense and Deaver-like is as good a recommendation as I need. Should be 99p well spent then.
