Lots of snow here too. We closed the nursery early. Shouldn't have opened at all really. Luckily my collegue could give me a lift most of the way home as it takes me an hour on the bus in normal conditions, and only 20 mins in the car. Still took us almost 2 hours to get home though. I do kind of like being at work on a snow day though- gives you an excuse to play it it!

Still reading Deep Powder and Against My Will. Deep Powder is driving me insane. I can't remember the last time I read a book with so many mistakes! And I don't mean spelling mistakes, I meean coninuety and actual facts. Haven't reached the 50 page mark yet though and I don't allow myself to give up until then.

Loads of Hugh Grant films start with lots of swear words, the only word for the first minute of 4 Weddings and a Funeral is the F word

Finished A Possible Life- Sebastian Faulks yesterday and stayed up too late writing a review for my blog! It was a bit hit and miss for me, but does really show what Faulks can do. Think it would make a pretty good boook club book actually. Started Against My Will by Benjamin Berkley. I'm reading it as part of a book tour I've been asked to take part in. Went to the library to get out a book for the challenge I'm running. It was a bit difficult as B'ham library is moving soon and they appear to have packed away about 99% of their books. I doubt there were many more on their shelves than there are in my personal collection! Did come away with Deep Powder by Dirk Robertson though which seems to fit the criteria- something I would never normally contemplate reading.

lol. That makes me sound quite restrained!

Have The Snow Girl on my kindle (it was on offer during the 12 days of Kindle), but it's not top of my list to read. Ape House is on my wishlist, may borrow it from the library tomorrow, I did like Water for Elephants.

Stayed up late last night/early this morning to finish Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet. Lovely book to start the year. Highly recommended. Planning on going to the library either later today or after work tomorrow. I'm running a challenge so I need to read my first book for that. The challenge is all about reading what you normally wouldn't so for January I'm picking a random book off the shelves in a section I don't usually frequent. Mainly excitedf and a little nervous to get started!

I have a kindle (the normal none keyboard one) and actually like it much more than I anticipated. Mainly got it for the commute. I've had a look at the fire and the paperwhite but I much prefer the standard e-ink screen as it's much more like reading an actual book. Plus I can imagine the battery runs out quickly on those that are backlit. I used to occasionally use the kindle app and i-books on my Ipod but it was a nightmare to read on, too small

Spent literally all morning at the hospital waiting for my appointment which was meant to be at 9 (didn't get seen until almost 12). Then only saw the doctor for about 5 minutes. Woke up to snow this morning but it's mainly gone now, probably a good thing as I have a driving lesson this afternoon, so much for a day off!

Birdsong is probably my favourite, really enjoyed Engleby too. Liked most of them actually, just not A Week in December, and it took a very long time for me to get into Human Traces, but I enjoyed it in the end. Only ones I haven't read are A Fool's Alphabet and Pistache. Oh and Devil May Care. Of his fiction anyway

Lol I am far from a Cruise fan myself (Knight and Day was just dire) but my friend said she wanted to see Jack Reacher and I didn't even know what it was. Maybe that's the best way to see a film, no expectations!

Well I hope you enjoy it more than I did. It seems to be a bit of a marmite film. Saw Jack Reacher on Friday, It was a bit absurd, and funny (although according to my friend the books are meant to be comedy thrillers), quite enjoyed it.

I've never read any Stephen King (have It on my TBR, but only because the boyfriend tends to decide I'll read anything he doesn't want!) and he never really appealed to me but I've heard a lot of good things about 11.22.63 and I like the sound of it

Have been a bit annoyed today. My new bag (which I only got last week) broke on me today, the strap just snapped off as I was walking along the road. It cost my boyfriend over £60 too, which just makes it worse! Apart from that have had a pretty good weekend. Went to the cinema to see Jack Reacher on Friday night, was a absurd, but quite funny, and enjoyable if you just went with it. Last night went out with some of the boyfriend's friends from work. I was the only woman which felt a bit awkward at first, but had fun.

I'm almost finished with Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet in paperback, really enjoying it and don't want it to end. On the kindle I'm reading Sebastian Faulk's latest (A Possible Life?) as a review copy for the blog. Second one in a row I've fould disappointing from Faulks, but prefering it to A Week in December.

Before I joined here my TBR pile was never more than 3 books, now just my paperback TBRs are at 25 and I have no idea how many are on my kindle. The blog doesn't help either, I've had to close to review requests because it's getting out of hand. My wishlist is worse, it's about 7 pages long on amazon.

Is anyone still doing this? I've been carrying on on my blog whilst I've been away from the site and have a few Rory books on my TBR pile.

Les Miserables (even though that was out 2012) The Great Gatsby Midnight's Children All films based on books! (Although I haven't actually read Les Mis)

The Hobbit, which was rather disappointing, and too long. God knows what they're going to do with the other two films

Hi guys it's been a long time since I've been around. I've been thinking about popping back for a while but somehow never actually did it. Still online a lot but my blog is taking up more and more of my time. I got an e-mail from here today so it's prompted me to actually do something! Happy New Year to you all.

The Amazing Spiderman. It was more comic book-y than the old version, and quite funny, I liked it. Helped that Spiderman looks like my boyfriend too (maybe that means the BF is spiderman...he does climb after all...)

Am ill and my mojo is a bit lacking but technically I'm reading The Good Angel of Death in paperback and Economics: A Simple Twist on Normalcy on the kindle
