Just finished this today and loved it, so much so that I ordered The Absence which should hopefully be here tomorrow. I struggled to get into the book at first but I think it was mainly because I've not really read any 'horror' except for James Herbert for quite some time! Completely agree with the comparison to Clive Barker - they both have that rich style of writing which I adore
Those lights are fantastic - I've just splurged and bought one I love the book clock mentioned in the first post, might have to drop a few hints about presents!
I remember when Twilight came out that I thought it read like a younger version of the Southern Vampire books - I like both though so I'm not complaining! Really annoyed now that I no longer have access to satellite tv so no True Blood for me until/if they come out on DVD
I would say BBD is definitely quite widespread, especially on this forum Maybe your children will come down with BBD when they get older, my nephews and niece never really read much until they hit their mid-teens.
My TBR is growing daily - I think I have book buying disease (BBD) At a rough guess I would say I have about 130 in my TBR mountain and about 700 on my wishlist
