  1. Aarghh!!! You guys are killing me! I'm desperately trying to avoid spoilers, but I now really want to know who you're talking about I must not look at the spoilers ... I must not look at the spoilers ... I must not look at the spoilers ... I must not look at the spoilers ... I must not look at the spoilers ... I must not look at the spoilers ... I must not look at the spoilers ... I must not look at the spoilers ... I must not look at the spoilers ...
  2. Three I can think of ... myriad - it's one of my measures of an author to see if they use it correctly obsequious - loved it since I had to look it up when Jane Austen uses it to describe Mr Collins and it perfectly summed up his character in a single word mellifluous - a word which sounds so wonderful on tongue it sounds just like its meaning
  3. Read a couple of chapters of Cranford at lunchtime, but had a headache and couldn't manage any more.
  4. Love Begins In Winter - Simon Van Booy
  5. It definitely depends on the narrator. Stephen Fry reading anything is wonderful, and I loved listening to audio versions of Jane Austen books by English actresses like Anna Massey and Joanna David. Simon Callow reading P.G. Wodehouse is also a perfect match. On the other hand, I've been trying to find some of my favourite books on audio books, but I find some of the readers irritating, and don't work at all. Fortunately, being able to listen to a short sample on iTunes means I haven't wasted any money on a book I wouldn't be able to listen to.
  6. I chose it because it's just my favourite place to be. I love the cafe on the beach at Burton Bradstock where I can sit with a lovely cup of coffee and read a book looking out at the fantastic Jurassic coastline of Dorset. We used to go on holiday there when I was a child, and I still visit regularly now. It's a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and if anyone wants to see what it looks like, there's a website www.chesilbeach.org
  7. The Book of Lost Things - John Connolly
  8. No problem - I've been here a year, and have a freaky memory for remembering threads, so I knew I'd seen one before
  9. Australian Open - Men's Final: Federer vs Murray
