  1. I heard The Owl Killers being reviewed on Simon Mayo's radio programme when it first came out, and I've picked it up a few times in bookshops but never quite got round to buying it. Can't wait to hear what you think of it, Fi!
  2. I finished A Touch Of Dead on Tuesday night, and I'm now reading The Carbon Diaries 2015 by Saci Lloyd, which has started very promisingly
  3. Hello!
  4. The Nightmare of Black Island - Mike Tucker
  5. Hello Kim!
  6. I really enjoyed this book, so much so, I bought it as a Christmas present for my partner. I was gripped from the very first page, so I'm firmly in the "Love it!" camp.
  7. I've really enjoyed William Dalrymple's books From the Holy Mountain, City of Djinns and The Age of Kali, and I have White Mughals on my shelf waiting to be read.
  8. Hello Kayla! I love books set in or about India (although for some strange reason, I have no inclination to travel there - go figure!) - do you have any particular favourites?
  9. I've finished Cranford and started on my library copy of A Touch Of Dead as a bit of light reading to follow. Will probably finish it tonight, as it's a very easy read, with a big font and large spacing!
  10. Around The World In Eighty Days (although it has to be the David Niven version )
  11. No!!! Too much pressure for me to hold up my end of the conversation Much better to have someone else at the meal and then just listen to his magnificence and he talked with them. I'd be an incoherent gibbering wreck in his presence.
  12. To be honest, I read my first Katie Fforde book about 12 years ago, and then didn't read another until I read Wedding Season last year, and I was disappointed. I felt her writing hadn't progressed and her characters were outdated in their outlook and their lifestyles, and she hadn't moved on from the original themes and style of early chick-lit.
  13. Hello pickle!
  14. At the end? Only at the end??? I will have tears rolling down my face throughout most of this film! In fact, I did watch some of it last night but after just 15 minutes I was a wreck
