  1. The size in the books title is the American size 12 which is the equivalent of the British size 16.
  2. What's disturbing about it?
  3. Hello SandMan!
  4. You really are in a Christmassy mood today!
  5. Most of my foodie traditions are for Christmas - steeping the fruit in alcohol before baking the cakes and icing them, making mince pies, the big roast dinner on Christmas Day and a few days of bubble and squeak leftovers! The only other tradition, is not really a holiday tradition, but on my birthday, we always have pizza! My favourite food, and an essential part of my birthday.
  6. Keeping The Faith - Edward Norton is so lovely when he smiles
  7. I'm off now to download the soundtrack. I wanted to see the film before I listened to the soundtrack, as I was worried I'd end up listening out for songs in the film rather than concentrating on the whole film experience, but I loved the songs so now need to have a good week of hearing them before my next cinema trip!
  8. Great review, Kate, you've summed it up perfectly. I adore Meg Cabot - her books are perfect for total relaxation, like watching a good romcom film. This isn't actually a teen novel though, it's one of her series aimed at the adult market, albeit probably the 18-24, possibly 18-35 markets. Not that it really matters, there's nothing particularly graphic or violent about them, but she classifies them in her "Books for Adults" category.
  9. The Mark Kermode and Simon Mayo podcast, and they're interviewing Eclipse director David Slade
  10. Me too! I'm listening to David Slade being interviewed on the Mark Kermode podcast, and have the tennis on the television, but muted.
  11. Have been out and about a lot this week, so haven't had much reading time, but managed another 20 pages of Martin Lukes: Who Moved My Blackberry?
  12. Just got back - I really want to talk about it too!!!! Need to discuss URGENTLY. I think Fi's suggestion is a good one, somewhere we can discuss but where people are aware that it's full of spoilers.
  13. Couldn't wait any longer - sat in cinema waiting for film to start
  14. Nor me. Never have I ever swum with dolphins.
  15. I can't find any authors whose first name is Monk on http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk, and the closest I can find to your description of the book is Cities in Flight by James Blish, but it doesn't have anything about cracking a code on the cover.
