  1. Spicy chicken pizza, garlic bread and coleslaw
  2. I have Twilight and New Moon in paperback, I have Eclipse in both hardback and paperback because I replaced it when paperback came out and I'll be doing the same with Breaking Dawn when the paperback comes out, I don't like hardback books
  3. Yeah I don't watch much tv either, and I read pretty fast as well. I usually can read a 500 page book in 2 days if my mojo is good
  4. Been reading more than you could have imagined? Or has your mojo deserted you? I've lost my mojo twice this year so far, but it usually comes back pretty quickly when I pick up an author I love or a favourite book. I've read 70 books so far, which is how many I read in the whole of 2008, so I'm pleased with my progress! Found any new favourites? Been disappointed by others? The Book Thief was amazing, as was Second Glance by Jodi Picoult. The Women Of The Otherworld series by Kelley Armstrong was a fantastic series and the two series I've read by Charlaine Harris (Sookie Stackhouse and Harper Connelly) were fab as well. Books I've been disappointed in are Girl, Interrupted by Susanna Kaysen, Into The Wild by Jon Krakauer, and The Birthing House by Christopher Ransom, mostly because I was so looking forward to reading each one and they were terrible! Been sticking to your reading challenges? Or pushed them to the side in the name of being spontaneous? I had 3 main challenges that I started this year, to read more series of books, A-Z of authors and Around The World challenge. Atm I'm reading through my 6th series of the year so that's going really well, I've done 14/26 of the author A-Z, so that's also going well. The ATW challenge is intended to be long term, so far I've read 5 countries and have another 8 countries waiting to be read, so if I can complete 10 countries by the end of the year I'll be pleased with that. I also wanted to get through at least half of my TBR pile, sadly that's failed miserably! Bought more books than you've read? (Please tell me I'm not alone in this!) I've bought loads of books this year, I'm constantly seeing reviews or books mentioned on here that look great and I think I must have them, which has ended in my TBR pile almost doubling since January...oops! Been spending too much time at BCF when you could otherwise be making inroads into your TBR pile? And if so, are you going to do anything about it? (Let me guess...'Yes' and 'No', right? ) Yes. No. This is the best forum I've ever belonged too, so it's no wonder it's hard to tear myself away. I spend more time reading about books other people are reading than actually reading any myself But I've made lots of great friends here, so I'm really glad I found this place! And finally, where do you hope your reading will take you in the next 6 months? Well I've read lots of books so far that I'd never have normally picked up, so I hope to keep finding new things and expanding my reading horizons, and I hope to reach my target of 150 books for this year. I think I should be able to do it
  5. Another meaty BBQ

  7. Hey hun, I'm great thanks, how are you? Thanks, I'm really pleased with them, but they're so different to my old ones, so taking a little adjusting

  8. Yes, a huge shock! Just got some pics through and he's gorgeous! Now I have two babies nephews to see when I go home in November, I can't wait! :D My sister's doing great too, thanks for the message x

  9. It seemed overwhelmingly clear that Halpern had done something truly unkind to someone. And yet, the small nagging thought tugged at me that it was, just as overwhelmingly so, too easy. Something was not quite right here.
  10. I'm back to being this again
  11. Yeah I can imagine! Will you be doing anything special to celebrate? :)

  12. No need to apologise! We've not planned it yet, we still have a few weeks but we'll probably go to our favourite restaurant for a meal and then snuggle up with a DVD, it's what we usually do :) I kind of feel like the past 4 years have flown by, seems crazy!

  13. Good but extremely hot! I hate it being this warm  Otherwise I'm fine, I read Tuesdays With Morrie and loved it! Did you want it back? :) x

  14. Will do
  15. Yeah I really loved that bit too He seemed like a great guy didn't he?
  16. I'm fine thanks hun, how are you doing? I hope you're okay, I noticed you've not been around much the last few days :friends0:

  17. Tuesdays With Morrie by Mitch Albom No. of pages: 192 Rating: 4/5 Synopsis: Maybe it was a grandparent, or a teacher or a colleague. Someone older, patient and wise, who understood you when you were young and searching, and gave you sound advice to help you make your way through it. For Mitch Albom, that person was Morrie Schwartz, his college professor from nearly 20 years ago. Maybe, like Mitch, you lost track of this mentor as you made your way, and the insights faded. Wouldn't you like to see that person again, ask the bigger questions that still haunt you? Mitch Albom had that second chance. He rediscovered Morrie in the last months of the older man's life. Knowing he was dying of ALS - or motor neurone disease - Morrie visited Mitch in his study every Tuesday, just as they used to back in college. Their rekindled relationship turned into one final "class": lessons in how to live. This is a chronicle of their time together, through which Mitch shares Morrie's lasting gift with the world. Review: When Mitch Albom sees his old professor being interviewed on TV because he's dying, Mitch quickly gets in touch before it's too late. What starts out as a nostalgic visit, turns into a weekly Tuesday visit, where Morrie dispenses his advice and knowledge to Mitch. I didn't really know what to expect from this book, but I've come away feeling quite touched by what was obviously a strong relationship between Morrie and Mitch. Morrie seemed like such a lovely old guy and even though he was in so much pain and his body was wasting away, he tried to keep a positive attitude about love, life and everything in between. Even though this is a book about something sad, you can't help but come away with something positive from it, but I'll admit, I did get teary eyed at the end. It was a great read, and I'd definitely recommend it!
  18. Hopefully the next will be better
  19. I'm a journalist who's recording my old professors decline due to a terminal illness
  20. Sorry to see you didn't enjoy it as much hun x
  21. I totally know what you mean, I walked to the shop which is like 4 minutes from our house and I thought I was melting, it's just awful  Being a Brit, I just cannot handle the heat  I'm not sure what we're doing yet, maybe a restaurant meal, or I'll make him something special, but yeah, we're both really surprised being that we both come from badly divorced parents, neither of us expected such an intense relationship, especially as we're only 22 now, so we're pretty young, but it's all good :D How long have you and Raja been together now? x

  22. I'd say there are others of hers that are much better, but I truely think it's just because this was the one of, if not the first, thriller she wrote after doing romancy type books, so it's a bit of both.
  23. Well it's better than Kevin and Perry Go Large either way
  24. Donnie Darko, and yeah it's kinda about a giant rabbit, which is actually pretty creepy
