  1. "Once upon a time - for that is how all stories should begin - there was a boy who lost his mother." - John Connolly, "The Book Of Lost Things". ^ By page 8 I was in tears. This is going to be an awesome book.
  2. You don't see the face I have to start my make up with in the morning
  3. Perhaps just reading such an emotional thing without expecting it? Either way, no problem.
  4. Awwhh thats so sweet. I miss my mummy
  5. Will do.
  6. Thats exactly what it was. Which is why I don't understand why there were book burnings and so on - Phillip was only expressing an idea, and a valid one at that, whether you're religious or not. In the movie. The movie sucked *ss. BUT. My god was I glad to see Sam Elliott, a.k.a Wade Garett in Roadhouse. If I were older and he had that long hair. By god. Actually thinking about it, he's barely aged in 20 years. More white than grey now, but still.
  7. Just had a mosey round this thread. I see you gave "Waiting" by Ha Jin 10/10, which is nice to see, as its one of the books on my list for my next round of amazon-shopping.
  8. I've been dragging through Kate Mosse's Labyrinth since christmas. Its a heavy book, its like a padded version of the Da Vinci Code half set hundreds of years ago. Sorta. Thats the general direction of it. Its beautifully written, but its slow reading. Fortunately the plot is easy so far, so I'm a good 100 pages in and steadily moving through when I get sick of my 'current' reading, which won't happen atm admittedly as right now it is The Time Traveller's Wife, which is, in short, epic.
  9. They're just copying Take That. I hate the way one boyband comes back and then they all come back.
  10. Lol awwhhh.
  11. By the time I started listening to music properly (about age 7) New Kids had already broken up. I've never listened to a thing by them
  12. I had Ben and Jerrys Choc Fudge Brownie, and parked my behind in bed while reading!
  13. Yeah. I've started about 4 books, and finally found one I'm happy to settle on, but I always have to find a book just right for my mood before I can read it.
  14. I had my soup, no sandwich. Not really hungry tonight. Getting some ice cream now and settingly down to read/post for the next 7 hours or so. Ahhh to be a student.
  15. So far I've only read Salem's Lot, and I loved it. I've heard his books can be a bit hit and miss though?
  16. I don't mind having a couple hundred - Thats only about 4 years worth of reading and I plan to live a lot longer than that!
  17. I've never read anything by H. G. Wells. May have to add them to the list.
  18. http://www.contactmusic.com/pics/m/punk_2_140308/mika_leaves_punk_nightclub_1790527.jpg ^ stubbly Mika. And its not even off topic, look: Fact about me: I love stubbly Mika.
  19. Btw, we've hijacked this thread and it's now officially the 'post your hot men photos' thread.
  20. Hes never actually said he was gay, he says it's nobody's business. But if he's not, then hes verrrrry camp. I love him though, hes adoreable and he's actualy really good looking. Just imagine him with a bit of stubble, a guitar and a deep husky voice. Doesn't that just make him to die for? Having said that, I love his voice as it is.
  21. Lmao course I didn't make it, Inver only requested one like 2 hours ago. For your information, however. I am a very good baker(ess? ) and I could easily make a cake that looks like that, its not exactly neat, its a chocolate sponge with chocolate icing slathered all over at random. With chocolate logs poured randomly on top.
  22. Hey you, does Dublin have a lot of second hand bookshops? I'm only in dublin city once a year or so unfortunately. I've never thought to go hunting for second hand bookshops up there.
  23. Course, help yourself
  24. *makes Inver cake*
