  1. I just looked this book up and discovered there's three in the series so far! 1. The Alchemist's Secret 2. The Mozart Conspiracy 3. The Doomsday Prophecy I want I want I want
  2. Ohh I'm going to look up both those titles all the same I really want loads more of these type books
  3. Oh yay! Theres a good crowd reading it so I didn't read at all yesterday, and probably won't today either, just too busy with college work
  4. Conspiracy Theory books - what a brilliant name! It is very much that sort of thing, it's only the third I've read, (I'm including Dan Brown's as one unit coz they're basically the same ) but I *love* these books! I want loads more - next on the list is The Reincarnationist!
  5. I read it in a day! He could easily have added another 100 pages and added slightly more detail (or a sense of more time passing, I felt it all seemed to happen very quickly) but perhaps thats just me wanting too much of a good thing! I loved it though
  6. YAY! I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
  7. Hola! No hablo espanol pero entiendo un poco? Or something! Welcome!
  8. I had the same issue in another book I read recently that was similar - The Rose Labyrinth. Great book, but more similar events would have been nice.
  9. Oh wow you're ahead of me! When did that happen?? I'll have to try do some reading tonight Up to about page 220:
  10. Awesome! How far into it are you? I'm about halfway, but have a lot of college work this week so I'll be slowing right down now
  11. Theres actually really bad reviews for this book on Amazon - mostly criticizing the lack of character development. There isn't much development, but at least they have consistent personalities - the heroine is a douche and her bodyguard sidekick is a Bond style mysterious agent guy with 'connections'. As I said to Ceinwenn, it's an action movie in book format - I'm totally loving it.
  12. Wow, sounds really interesting! I never knew Steve Martin wrote books! I'm defnately going to check them out
  13. It's totally underrated. It's actually all about Dr. Frankenstein, the monster is, typically gothically, like a doppleganger, a shadow hanging over his life. And then when you get to see things from the monster's perspective it's nuts. Really really dark but brilliant novel.
  14. Frankenstein is great.
  15. I feel sick reading on all land transport except trains. Planes and boats are grand too.
  16. Haha no problem! I'm a **** student like that too - I can't handle major partying at ALL!

Wuthering Heights isn't TOO bad to read in terms of writing style, but it IS pretty depressing material - I'd recommend something a bit lighter, and maybe more recent to tone the language down?

I have two class tests (Tuesday and Thursday) and an essay due (Friday). :thud: I've not made as much progress as I'd like, but the essay is pretty much ready to be written, I've a good bit of one exam reviewed and the other class exam, the Tuesday one, will hopefully be easy.

But I'm still reading! I'm 168 pages into The Shakespeare Secret (started yesterday) and I'm loving it! Just going to try hit 200 now before going baking, and then back to study later! :thud: and I say again: :thud::lol:

  17. Another Irish person! Welcome!
  18. I did like them when I was a kid. I don't really know why I went off them
  19. In my experience, A) lemon is bitter, and bitter dough is worse than tasteless dough, and sugary pancakes makes for a briefly sweet taste followed by dough. It's like donuts. The plain ones aren't really sweet, and the amount of sugar on the outside just emphasizes the sheer tastelessness of the actual food item. If pancakes were ever to be nice, a lot of sugar would have to be cooked into them.
  20. They're tasteless piles of dough....
  21. I hate pancakes
  22. Awh so would I
  23. The Shakespeare Secret differentiates by using Roman numerals for anything that isn't 'story.' You do have a point, I just like books that do what TSS does.
  24. I'm on paaaage... *checks* 146. R.e page 98 (this isn't a spoiler) I really like how the author sets out a proper train of thought, I mean anyone whose read a book like this knows a deciding factor for it's credibility is the author's ability to make the uncovering of the mystery seem believeable - like the characters could actually work these things out. I like how, (on 98, as an example you'll have just read) that the two characters work through about three legit possibilities before working out what the clue actually is. Makes it much more realistic. Did you add me on msn, Ceinwenn? I got no add
  25. Dorian was probably a bit heavy for a first classic. We'll have to find you something a bit lighter! Maybe you should try something Gothic?
