  1. I thoroughly enjoyed it, but I thought the acting was pretty bad, the whole falling in love thing happened way too easily (though that was the case in the book too) and just generally I thought a lot of it was very bland. The ballet studio scene, however, is epic. It makes the entire movie worth watching time and time again just to see that scene with RPat's song playing. It's superb.
  2. That's probably because it isn't actually a very good movie.
  3. I used to like Faith but she just annoys me now. Probably because I love Tru Calling and Tru is a much more likeable character than Faith. To me Faith is a weak and ignorant little girl who talks big but has nothing to back it.
  4. This totally depends on how much the book grabs my attention. The average would be 2-3 days for a book that just got my attention at a normal level. If I was less interested, up to a week, and if I couldn't put it down less than 48 hours.
  5. Kate the cop is a useless character and will be gone soon. I forgot she ever even existed, tbh. I really want to watch Angel
  6. I had carbonara sauce with my pasta and chicken - well now I know where I was going wrong with my pasta! That sauce is so creamy it's like a chicken soup... with bacon in. Which just doubles the joy. (I've never had it, in case you couldn't tell )
  7. Chicken and pasta.
  8. I have thirty pages to go in it. His structuring is a lot the same. Plot, intermissions, big long rambles about life stories and town histories, sudden realisation of something we all should have realised about 50 pages ago and a fast paced dash around the place towards the end. It's great stuff.
  9. Mr. Y does space, time and thought I don't know anything about Ian McEwan, but I like the sound of The Child In Time.
  10. The film is okay, it simplifies a lot and changes bits around, but the general core of the storyline is in tact. The book is better. Also, the ending is totally different - the book doesn't have quite so happily-ever-after an ending, one part is different.

  11. Hiya.

It's Inkheart. I recently reread it, and it's one of my favourite books. :D Kell has a picture like it, which I love.

  12. Triple post, but I don't care. I'll merge them once someone PAYS ATTENTION!! Nah I'm kidding. Just watched Prom, now onto the two part Season 3 finale, meaning I've watched 54 episodes. 90 to go. Also, I've cried more in the last week watching all this Buffy than I have in the last ten years. I'm not a crying kind of person, the last thing to make me cry was Christian the Lion remembering his owners after a year in the wild. But man, watching Buffy has unleashed the inner teenage girl. It's also funny how, when I was about 15, watching these episodes I thought Bit like Buffy. Now that I'm older, I'm actually seeing it from Angel's perspective, Does this mean I'm growing up? *clings to youth*
  13. I also think it seems a bit ignorant, but I would like the insight to the author's way of thinking. In the back of The Book Of Lost Things, John Connolley gives his brief interpretation of what he wrote, but also says it's open to personal interpretation, as in chances are readers will read into whatever they want to, irrespective of what he intended, which is cool.

    Hobbies

    - Reading and reviewing. Love, love, love reading and reviewing. - Collecting old books, anything 1900's - 1950's, mostly - if I ever get rich, I might get older books - Recently getting back into art, working specifically in Paintshop Pro to sketch and colour cartoon-style pieces. - Playing guitar/listening to very loud music. - Baking cakes. I like decorating them. - Studying/researching various things. It changes. Usually moves between physics, astronomy, mythology and other things I never did in school. Those six would probably be my main ones.
  15. Sorry about the double post but OH MAN!! I just saw the bit where Buffy and Faith meet Wesley for the first time, the dialogue is superb!! *Buffy walks into the library* Wesley: Ah, this must be Buffy. Buffy: New Watcher? Giles: New Watcher. Wesley: *inane ramblings with Buffy and Giles* *Faith walks in* Wesley: Ah, this is perhaps Faith? Faith: New Watcher? Buffy and Giles: New Watcher. Faith: Screw that. *Faith walks out* I actually choked on my drink I laughed so hard
  16. It won much-deserved awards. It's superb. The songs stand alone pretty well, most of the cast have alright voices, while Giles and Tara have superb voices. It's witty, there's proper structuring, harmonies, reprises, duets, dances, some ballet, it's amazing.
  17. Okay, I'm skipping ahead to watch the musical ep. I have to, I've been listening to the soundtrack. Can I also say - Sweet is totally underrated. Just because he's 'only the demon', he gets dismissed. His songs and voice are amazing. I love the kind of music he sings.
  18. Meaning and deep? Well, I loved The End Of Mr. Y. It's all philosophy, quantum physics and emotions.
  19. I tend to get caught up in the relationships that are more hinted at than ever actually acted out, like say some actions have an outward obvious effect, but some others don't have an outward effect but leave a sort of negative, or imprint. The most obvious example was the father daughter relationship between Buffy and Giles - and the reason that song makes me cry is because it's (I think) the only time either of them ever uses the word 'father'.
  20. I like James Marster's voice, but I've never heard him sing or talk in his actual American accent. When he was singing in the musical episode, I thought the English accent sounded a little forced, when normally it doesn't, so that spoiled it a little. I agree that Anthony Head has an amazing voice - Standing makes me cry every time. Also, r.e the character thing, I agree with Mia.
  21. That's coz he got older. He was hottest in 1997-1999 when B started. Which is 10-12 years ago, it's quite some time.
  22. I had those BBQ ribs I bought, they weren't very BBQ-y. Didn't even eat them all.
  23. Take you me for a sponge? This is superb!
  24. DOYLE! I loved Doyle I was really upset when THAT actor died too
  25. I loved Lorne so much, I was really upset when the actor died
