  1. That's fine, you can continue to edit it until it's closed and it won't mess anything up.
  2. I watched Jurassic Park over Christmas again and I never knew there was a book! So now I can't wait to read it. I love dinos The Alchemist has been sitting on my shelf for months - which is the main reason I want to get into it! I did try once, but couldn't. I hear very mixed reviews! And Middlesex - I have no excuse for not reading it yet other than that I keept buying new ones the whole time, but it is meant to be very good, I'll let you know as soon as I read it
  3. First two reads of 2010 in progress: C. S. Friedman - Black Sun Rising - This is a re-read, because I haven't finished the trilogy before. It's excellent, which I already knew. Merlin Holland - Oscar Wilde: A Life In Letters - This is a really interesting read, which substantiates the character I already thought Wilde to be. I'm reading it slowly am am currently at his 30th year, before he meets Bosie and just after he met Sherard.
  4. Readwine & Chesil - I closed yours. Inver - I closed yours and moved it to the Past Reading Log section.
  5. Totals for 2009: ® Review Books: 10 (ATW) Around The World Challenge: 5 (CF) Childhood Favourites 'Challenge': 7 Read: 54 Pages: 18,270
  6. Yeah I would have studied astrophysics if I had been good at Math too. I do read a lot about astronomy and particularly archaeoastronomy too, I find them really interesting.
  7. Both done
  8. Here's a photo my brother took of the partial lunar eclipse tonight:
  9. I saw some books down town today that I wanted, but they were too expensive in that particular shop
  10. I have no idea what you'll think of it but it's build upon a very Matrix-esque theory, so it's very thought provoking.
  11. Wahey!
  12. YES! YES YES YES!!!!!!! Read it!
  13. I got a lovely miniature illustrated hardback edition of Pride & Prejudice, the third Frankenstein novel by Dean Koontz for mum and Once Upon A Time In The North by Phillip Pullman for my brother.
  14. I've started re-reading Black Sun Rising by C.S. Friedman.
  15. My favourite is still Black Sun Rising, the first in the Coldfire Trilogy. Nothing I've read this year has come close within it's genre, and as a mix of sci-fi and fantasy (arguably the best foundation for fantasy if you're like me and like a bit of logic in your magic) there's nothing better.
  16. The New Moon OST is better than the original - and I love the original.
  17. There's a Dracula movie with Keanu Reeves? That I have to see
  18. Granted, but they burn them all in the process. I wish I was dating Jude Law
  19. SG-Universe is a soap opera in space, basically. It's very generic, most of the characters aren't particularly likeable and generally the episodes aren't particularly interesting. I watched about 8 episodes before I gave up on it.
  20. I want to read the book too, Janet! I now have a Titanic reading list as well as an Oscar Wilde Reading list I should probably add those to my 2010 thread Beau's whole series looks great - the exploration one (more generalized) comes with a cd-rom of maps as well as over 30 facsimiles.
  21. I'm watching The Polar Express again Love this movie
  22. I discovered Beau Riffenburgh's Explorers book/facsimile set and bought it, so I'm thrilled, the Titanic one was great
  23. Star Trek: First Contact. I really do love the Star Trek TNG crew.
  24. Duck Spring Rolls tonight
  25. That's another thing. I LIKED Dracula, that's why I hated the sequel. I loved some concepts, But beyond that, nah.
