  1. Vanilla Sky.
  2. Assuming you're talking about the latest incarnation: the movie changes the story, adds in a character and is almost universally (on here anyway) considered to be a disrespectful travesty. The book is infinitely better.
  3. Thanks! I should really add a little addendum at the bottom saying: 'Due to style and lack of particularly eventful storyline, this book won't appeal to a lot of people', because it's true, but I still loved every single page. I haven't yet looked at his other book(s?) but am definitely interested in reading more.
  4. I love Helena in these movies too. Personally I would rather have seen American McGee's Alice become a movie - it was supposed to, with Sarah Michelle Gellar as Alice but it never got far. Tim Burton could have taken American McGee's Alice and made it the best thing he's ever done, period. I normally love Avril, but this song is like pop meets tribal chanting meets Braveheart.
  5. I pretty much only a Johnny fan when he works with Tim, so for me it's a case of 'can't have too much of a good thing'. I hate Alice In Wonderland, so all I want this movie for is the Burtonesque spin on it.
  6. Anyone else heard the title track "Alice (Underground)" by Avril Lavigne? It's kinda, not good. I love Avril, but Avril and Tim Burton? The soundtrack is being released in March, alongside Alice (Underground) as Avril's new single.
  7. Awesome! I should try that.
  8. I have this image of you blindfolding yourself and picking up random things to surprise yourself
  9. I might watch Vanilla Sky.
  10. I'm trying to decide what to watch next.
  11. .....Right. If it helps at all, time doesn't actually flow. That's just how we percieve it.
  12. It was made in 1999, it's not THAT old...
  13. Everything scares you. It's an absolutely fantastic, beautiful film. And a vast improvement on the book.
  14. By terrible I hope you don't mean it's a bad film.
  15. The Iron Giant. I cried. A lot.
  16. Oooh looking foward to hearing what you think Ned - I kinda trailed off it about halfway through, not because it wasn't good, I was just distracted by other books. I thoroughly enjoyed what I read. I PLAN to finish The Magicians tonight so I can get back into Jonathan Strange.
  17. Rings a bell with me but for some reason I'm thinking movie rather than book. I wonder is it something with a film adaption?
  18. Either roast potatoes and carrots with gravy, or honey Cheerios. Depends on my mood.
  19. I made a chicken and lettuce sandwich and then realised I wasn't THAT hungry, so I've eaten half and put half in the fridge for later. Also had a cup of juice.
  20. LOL! Strawberry Nutri-Grain
  21. I'm 306 pages into The Magicians which I started last night. Only 182 pages to go! That makes me a bit sad, coz it's an absolutely fantastic read. Now I must sleep before I die, or I won't find out the end.
  22. I came here to recommend Joan Of Arcadia, but I see there's no need. *Toddles on*
  23. I'm well into The Magicians now, just over a hundred pages, and it's brilliant so far. Thoroughly enjoying it, love the characters, love the somewhat cynical tone underlying a story about magic, and I can't wait to learn what the bigger darker picture is
