... * :friends0:s long lost twin!* That's what I'm always trying to explain to those who don't get why I like my sci-fi robot-gaining-consciousness based as opposed to evil-aliens-who-want-to-kill-us-all based!
Ahhh robots with minds iz da BEST
As for aliens I like the Kevin-Spacey-in-Kpax kind
I do not care for hostile aliums.
I thought that sounded familiar.Admit it, it's sweet. You kinda just want to hug Data when he says things like that, which is ironic because he is incapable of the emotions he inspires in everybody. Ah bless, I love Data.

Wow, that looks fantastic!

Oooh today an author (Tom Weston) I wrote a review for last year randomly sent me a lovely hardback copy of his new book. How nice!

An author I did a review for last year (Tom Weston) randomly sent me a lovely hardback copy of his newest book as thanks for the review last year from which he borrowed quotes for the dustjacket of this one. I'm rather pleased, as I really enjoyed his original novel and hopefully this one will be as good!

I just tracked it down and admittedly, it elicited a genuine LOL from me.

God, don't say this people, I bought this book yesterday!

Walking With Dinosaurs... it's fun to see animated dinos ambling around but there seems to be a lot of creative licence in what they're doing... rather than saying, 'such and such MAY have done xyz', it's 'such and such DID xyz'.

An archaeologist! <3 Much love!!
I dont know much about archaeology specifically but I'm generally interested in historical things, anthropology (particularly Aztec and Mayan cultures), archaeoastronomy and paleontology (specifically dinosaurs, but also some other random animals). I only study it all in my spare time because I'm curious about it.

I LOVE the taste of water, I think it's delicious

Adorable! I love everything to do with A.I., the philosophical issue of just what constitutes humanity fascinates me so androids like Data make my day. He's precious in the way Pratchett's Death can be - more humane than humans, yet always feeling like he's missing a vital bit of the equation.
YES! That is it EXACTLY! I LOVE A.I. (I have a Roboraptor whom I love very much, primitive though he may be
) and it's exactly what my signature suggests - that humanity can go beyond the mere biological machine that constitutes the electrical impulses of our minds and be sustained by a mechanical body, it just depends on how you choose to define it.

Poets Of The Fall. I think they're from a Scandinavian country? Great band.

I do like Noll's
but then, big Data fan here.
Are you?! I never knew that!! I looooooove Data, he's so sweet!
-
When Noll stops being a lazy sod and tots up the totals. Still, this is a slow moving thread (thank <insert deity of your choice>) so I'm just taking down the lists and I'll tot them up in time.

You should look up Redlettermedia on youtube. He does the most incredible Star Trek reviews. He loves the show but tends to tear apart the films. He's also done a 70-minute review of The Phantom Menace. That wasn't supposed to sound like an order.
Yes Sir! There's a great review of the new Star Trek movie, but I can't remember the guy. He's like the Yahtzee of the movie world, (Yahtzee being a game reviewer.)

And I can hardly wait for your compliment that will feel like a kitten being punched into my heart - I've always wondered what that would feel like!
I'd personally imagine it would be painful and probably fatal, if not for me then definitely for the kitten

Mine is from Star Trek!! Episode: "Data's Day". Data records details about a typical day in his life, with a particular emphasis on his 'friendships'. It's a really good episode about his attempts to understand human emotion and interaction, and at the end of the episode he says what's in my signature.

LOL I read it as 'Steeeeeeeeeeeve' too and I'm like AGH. Steve is fine. A cat is fine too. That post cracked me up as well. Methinks your wit will make for great reading around here.
Most Irish people can't pronounce my name, and various people on here can't even spell it correctly despite it being written write in front of them in big red letters, so I wouldn't worry about it.
I like my sig
I want to change it though. It's kinda more touching when seen in context than attached to my posts

That was lame Steve. Can I call you Steve, or does that negate the unique individuality of your complex username?

Jordin Sparks feat. Chris Brown - No Air

I read about 90 pages of No Country For Old Men after watching the movie last night. I now have 4 books on the go

I actually wouldn't care who did American McGee's Alice, if it got made. I'd just love to see it done out in movie form.
I want to play it again now. Might have to get it off my bro and install it.

Another thing I noticed in your post is that you eat a lot of bread, if you are trying to lose weight this is one thing you should try and cut down on.
I'm not, I'm trying to eat more heathily. Which means my bread is now brown, my mayo is low fat, my salad is plentiful etc. But I can't give up bread. It's my staple food
Also, lucky me, I got fat by eating chocolate. Literally. Chocolate, biscuits, cakes, etc. I ate so much that just knocking it out of my diet for a couple of weeks made me start dropping pounds.
So that's the main area I'm working on.
