  1. Hello. :) Just popping in to say that I read the blurb to Nightswallow and it sounds really good. I've added it to my wishlist!

  2. Just popping in to say hello! :) How are you?

  3. Yeah, I was thinking maybe I should try them first, just to make sure that I like them. But like you say, as the characters change it shouldn't be much of a problem. I might read them next actually :)

  4. I know! It feels like it's all gone so fast and yet you feel like you've known them forever :). You'll be the first I tell about Bitten, Stolen (and the rest :)) as I bought them based on your recommendation. From the blurb, they do sound very good. I'm just reluctant to start them as I don't have the rest. It's an OCD thing I have!

  5. I think I've got about 65 but that's also going to go up. It's me and my boyfriend's three year anniversary soon and he said he'll buy me ten off my wishlist to celebrate! I'm happy with that, hehe :). I've got A Splendid Thousand Suns on my TBR pile too, I am looking forward to that one. Also looking forward to The Book Thief, Bitten, Vulnerable, The Point Of Rescue and Boy A. (Goes without saying but...) Let me know what you think of Noughts & Crosses! :)

  6. Sorry I didn't get around to replying to your message! :) You mentioned your TBR pile, how many do you have? Mine just keeps growing, it'll never shrink! Which books are you looking forward to the most?

  7. Hehe, that's strange; Me and my BF love Pizza Hut but I've never been to Nando's! I've heard so much about it and so many people seem to love it that I keep thinking about trying it out but we haven't really had the chance yet! :D Ha, yep, both addictive and the reason I have no money left . I've bought so many books since I've joined here. It's good though because I'm trying book that I never would have considered before.

The Reader - "The Reader is a compelling meditation on the connections between Germany's past and its present, dramatised with extreme emotional intelligence as the story of a relationship between the narrator and an older woman".

I've read mixed reviews so figured I'd try it for myself! :)

Do you know what The Book Of Lost Things is about? Everyone keeps mentioning it and I'm a little intrigued but I have no idea about the actual plot.

  8. Did you go anywhere nice? (Your Valentine's meal). Me and my BF were planning on going Pizza Hut (classy ) but we're too lazy and couldn't be bothered in the end, ha! Although, we have agreed to go some time next week. This forum is so addictive, I swear I spend about the same amount of time on here as I do reading nowadays. I love it though. Good luck with Prisoner of Azkaban. They're all huge pager turners so I'm sure you'll finish it. Goblet of Fire is one of my favourites. :D I'm going to read The Reader by Bernhard Schlink next, have you read it? Do you know what you'll read after the HP series?

  9. Hello! :D I'm good thanks, you? I've had a hectic day with all my nieces and nephew running around, not exactly a romantic day, hehe. You been up to much? I managed to finish a book though, so that was good!

  10. Haha, it took me ages to work that one out too. Go to the section that you want to post your thread to. And then above all the other threads/posts, there's a 'New Thread' button. :)

  11. Oh! Haha, I has to check to see what you were talking about. You're welcome :). I just remember how I was after I finished Twilight, hehe. Happy reading! :)

  12. Hey! I saw on a thread that you bought The Host and Noughts and Crosses. I really hope you enjoy both of them when you get around to reading them. It's a shame that Noughts and Crosses was ruined a little for you though. Let me know what you think of both! :) BookBee

  13. I can only imagine what a novel by Fitzgerald would be like! His writing style not to my taste at all. Hehe, I'm glad I've not got an exam on it! I had exams on Of Mice And Men in school. I always find that if you have to read a book for a class, then you can never enjoy it the same way.

Yeah, I always tried to re-read the previous ones before starting a new HP book or I would've forgotten! :) Good luck with it

  14. I'm finding the Fitzgerald stories very tedious. I can't wait to finish the book. I'm tempted to give up as I've read four out of the seven.

Ooh, wow :). The 7th HP book. I really hope you enjoy it! I want to re-read it just because I feel like I've forgotten most of it. Happy reading!

  15. Thank you. :) I'm doing good. It's snowing again though and I'm not a fan! Reading wise, I'm about halfway through a collection of short stories by F. Scott Fitzgerald. How about you?

  16. Hello back to you :). I love your background picture!

  17. Wrote about it on my 'Bee's Books 2009' thread, if you can find it! :D Overall, such a beautiful book but I wasn't overly keen on the ending! Still made me cry though!

  18. I did worry that I wasn't going to like it. Obviously if you have such high expectations of a book, it rarely reaches them. It's definitely different to what I expected though. I can think of only two criticisms at the moment but I'm waiting to see where the book leads before I'm set on those. :)

Wow, Victorian Lit, that sounds like that would be really interesting. I've just got Social Psychology and then Developmental Psychology tomorrow. The first we're doing about Social Representations which is quite interesting but I'm not overly fond of Social Psy. Developmental is all good though. We're doing about language at the moment.

Haha, I always go into places that sell books alone. People have suffered with me before. Even my boyfriend won't come with me anymore! :tong: If you go, happy raiding. As it's all for charity, you don't have to feel bad about buying more books! :D

  19. Ooh, well I think I'll have finished it by Saturday so I'll have to let you know what I think. I'll be glad to have finally read it; people mention it so much that I've always wanted to know what they're talking about. :D

 Tell me about it! I rarely go bed before 4/5, even when I have a 9am lecture. It's terrible. I've got an 11am start tomorrow which is not too bad I guess!

Is it snowing over there? It's snowing again here. Which could possibly mean that my lectures are cancelled, again!

  20. Oh, good. :D It's been such an amazing read so far and it's got such a heartbreaking feel about it, that I think you assume a happy ending is unlikely. Sometimes happy endings just feel forced and unrealistic.

:crazy:I know, I'm usually up quite late because I drink a shed load of coke and I'm seriously like a hamster. I function better in the hours when everyone else sleeps! I need to sort it out really, hehe. How come you're up so late?

  21. Awww, no, don't worry about it! You weren't to know that I would read the other posts. I do it all the time! :) I'm stupid like that, hehe.

  22. Just over 300 pages. Just after New Years 1999. I nearly always ruin endings for myself, one way or another.

  23. It's because I saw she'd mentioned the book so I stupidly decided to read it. Argh! Oh, never mind. I figured it wouldn't be a happy ending anyway.

  24. Argh! *Pokes eyes out* I just read ii's message below about some male dying in The Time Traveler's Wife! I've not finished it yet! Oh dear. I'm assuming it's Henry, isn't it?

  25. Wow, thanks so much. That means a lot considering there's so many awesome people on here! :) I've got to say that the same goes for you. I know if a thread has a post from you in it, it's either going to be hilarious and/or insightful.
