  1. Does your doctor think it's related? It's funny, coz my skin is extemely sensitve and i get marks and rashes really easy, but i never thought of it being yet another effect of FM. I hope you get it sorted Suzanna.

  2. Hope you don't mind me mentioning it? It's just that my mum has been diagnosed, after years and years of pain, and doctors appointments! I have the same problems but i haven't been diagnosed. Hope you are doing ok at the moment. Like you say, the warm weather helps!

  3. Congrats on your new title as moderator Roxi!

  4. Just out of curiosity (i've just seen your post about weather), is it fybromyalgia you suffer from?

  5. Hello Terrie and
  6. Thanks Books Manic. Yet some another interesting books added to my list. I don't usually have lists, i like to go with the flow. But since joining here, my ways have changed. It's great! Plenty of choice.
  7. Me too. Although, i'll try the liabary first i think! I'm afraid, if i hit my account, it will hit back.

    Non Fiction

I don't read a lot of non fiction from cover to cover like a novel, etc. I have read some really good non fiction on the art of writing, in that way though.
  9. I know this sounds disgusting, but i nibble any paper ones whilst i'm reading, without realising it
  10. I never undersatnd movies like message in a bottle. It was a really romantic, lovely film, all the way through, about a man getting over his lost love and moving onto another, and then he dies! (highlight to read) I don't get the point!
  11. i have recently bought a book mark i love and i have only used that since. It's a cat that sits at the top of the page and it's legs and tail hold the page for you. I got it from waterstones, and they had loads of others that were similar.
  12. That's me to. I find sometimes if i haven't fully understood a passage i read it again. I don't like to read a book, and miss any of it. I will read it word for word, even if i can't wait for the chapter or section to end! I can't seemto help it.
  13. Wow eliza aren't you multi-talanted! Welcome to the forum. I'm sure you'll like it here and i'm looking forward to your thoughts ideas.
  14. I do think a movie can be good as a viewpoint. A little bit like a piece of art. It is done from the artists perspective. And i find this usefull, because it gives me a perspective that i never thought of before. To me it's the same reason i come on this forum, to hear other peoples perspective and viewpoint, so i can colour more of mine in, or learn to appreciate it from that angle. It makes the experience mean more. However i do believe no film could ever give a book the perfect amount of justice it deserves. After all they are taking someone else's viewpoint and trying to interpret it themselves. To a degree thats not entirley possible.
  15. Thanks. I'll proberbly forget how to spell it for next time like! That was a good point about Tolkien, lord of the rings similaritys. The classic battle of good verses bad.
  16. I only play a little (and i mean a little). But i used to sing in a band. My husband, who plays guiter used to be in the band with me teaches it now. I showed him your guitars, coz he's just a tad obsessed!

I know what you mean though. I have loads of hobby's i enjoy, but trying to find time to do them all, so you keep up the practice is next to imposible.

  17. Ahh! Well it's a shame. They would still have had to make some adustments to the development of characters and story, which for me was the best bit! I liked, for example the development of G-kar (if thats how you spell his name) I have watched a few of the films that have been made. I liked them. Not as much as the series, but they were definatly worth watching.
  18. Love the guitars! So you play?

  19. I'd have a King Charles Spaniel anyday! They are beautiful. Oh i love animals!

  20. I remember vanity fair. I really enjoyed that adaptation, but i must admit, i haven't read the book! I've bought it, but haven't got around to it yet. I do love watching a lot of the adaptations. In fact i recently been looking up all the older ones. Our mutual friend, Far from the madding crowd, wives and daughters, cold comfort farm, etc.
  21. Does anyone remember Babylon 5? Besides me? I love it. But it was cut off to early, and the writer had to shorten the intended story! I was really fed up with this, as the alternative, quick ending was a bit disappointing.
  22. I agree i just did not get it! I'd heard people rave about it, but i just got so fed up with it i didn't finish it. I found the idea of watchinganymore angonising!
  23. Isaac Asimov has done more short stories than i could number. If you get a book of his collection of and see what you think. People tend to think of him as being a science fiction writer, but i was pleasantly surprised to find he has written on a number of subjects and issues. His stories do have a science fiction base, but it's not all about that.
  24. I agree. I love cats. I used to have three and i would like to get more again. I'm trying to persuade my husband to let me have a dog. Although i'm opposite to you in that i love big dogs.

  25. I know he is beautiful isn't he. Yes he's my baby. Sound pathetic don't i?
